Hyundai marked a significant shift in its Malaysian presence by officially launching under its own direct operations through Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY). This move ends the distributor-led model and signals Hyundai’s long-term commitment to the Malaysian market, emphasizing control over product rollout, pricing, and customer service.
All-New Hyundai Santa Fe Makes Its Debut

The fifth-generation Santa Fe was the star of the launch event, showcasing a bold new “Art of Steel” design language.

Larger dimensions, pixel-style lighting, and three distinct variants were introduced, including two hybrids and a high-performance Calligraphy model with AWD. The Santa Fe lineup is expected to be locally assembled by Q3 2025, with pricing estimated between RM225,000 and RM270,000.

Facelifted Tucson Brings Bold New Styling and Hybrid Tech

The updated Hyundai Tucson brought fresh styling under the Parametric Dynamics design theme, including redesigned LED DRLs and a premium dual 12.3-inch curved display inside.

The model is offered in four variants, including a hybrid version that pairs a 1.6L turbo engine with an electric motor. It also features advanced driver assistance systems and a futuristic gear selector.

Staria MPV Updated with Premium Touches

Hyundai’s premium people mover, the Staria, returned with enhancements in both design and comfort. The 7-seater Prestige trim offers “Relaxation” seats, chrome accents, and a spaceship-like aesthetic.

It runs on a 2.2L diesel engine with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and is available in both 7- and 10-seater layouts to suit families and businesses.

Commitment to Local Assembly and Expansion
Hyundai confirmed that the Santa Fe and Staria will be locally assembled at the Kulim plant starting later in 2025. The company aims to expand its dealership network to 25 outlets by 2030 and deliver competitive pricing, improved availability, and better after-sales support through direct operations.
