Proton and PRO-NET Feature 14-Vehicle ICE and EV Contingent at 69th National Day Parade

Proton Holdings Berhad and its new energy subsidiary, PROTON New Energy Technology Sdn Bhd (PRO-NET), participated in Malaysia’s 69th National Day Parade at Dataran Putrajaya on 31 August 2026, deploying a 14-vehicle convoy under the Kluster Pemacu Pembangunan Negara (Key Driver of National Development Cluster) to showcase the brand’s internal combustion engine (ICE) and electrified vehicle (xEV) models.

  • Proton and PRO-NET fielded a 14-vehicle contingent at Dataran Putrajaya representing the brand’s conventional ICE lineup and electrified Proton e.MAS portfolio.
  • Proton e.MAS reached 31,504 cumulative xEV registrations as of 31 July 2026, supported by an ecosystem of 60 dealerships, 46 service centres, 10 Body & Paint facilities, and over 4,700 integrated charging points.
  • All three Proton e.MAS models—the e.MAS 5, e.MAS 7, and e.MAS 7 PHEV—are now locally assembled (CKD) in Malaysia.

The 14-vehicle parade contingent carried vehicle liveries displaying the slogan “Memacu Malaysia,” integrating Proton’s legacy and current internal combustion lineup alongside PRO-NET’s complete electrified vehicle range.

The event marked the third consecutive year that Proton e.MAS participated in the National Day Parade, progressing from prior public previews of the e.MAS 7 and e.MAS 5 to presenting the full xEV lineup alongside the locally assembled Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV. With the addition of the plug-in hybrid variant to domestic production lines, all three Proton e.MAS models are now assembled in Malaysia.

As of 31 July 2026, Proton e.MAS recorded 31,504 cumulative xEV registrations. The brand’s domestic network and supporting aftersales infrastructure currently comprise:

  • 60 authorized dealerships nationwide
  • 46 dedicated service centres
  • 10 certified Body & Paint facilities
  • Access to a nationwide charging network exceeding 4,700 public charging points

The vehicle presentation formed part of the brand’s “Colours of Malaysian Spirit” and “Anak e.MAS Malaysia” campaigns, incorporating localized colors and design elements intended to reflect domestic cultural diversity.

In conjunction with the National Day celebrations, Proton e.MAS is hosting the “Malaysia Colour Hunt” digital contest on its social media channels (Facebook, Xiaohongshu, TikTok, and Instagram) running until 16 September 2026. The contest will award 69 winners an RM69 Touch ‘n Go eWallet reload PIN each.

Zhang Qiang, Chief Executive Officer of PRO-NET, stated that participating in the National Day Parade reflects Proton’s transition toward electrified mobility. He noted that recording 31,504 registrations within two years demonstrates growing local adoption of electric vehicles, adding that the local assembly of all three e.MAS models supports domestic manufacturing capability and broader EV supply chain development.
