iCAUR 03 RWD Now Locally Assembled in Malaysia – CKD Production Commences, Retains CBU Pricing at RM119,740, Deliveries Begin October 2026

iCAUR Malaysia has officially commenced local assembly (CKD) operations for the iCAUR 03 Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) variant, completing the domestic assembly transition for the model lineup while retaining its introductory CBU retail price of RM119,740 on the road without insurance for Peninsular Malaysia.

  • iCAUR Malaysia transitions the entry-level iCAUR 03 RWD to local assembly (CKD), completing the model’s domestic production programme following the CKD rollout of the all-wheel-drive iWD variant in May 2026.
  • The locally assembled variant retains identical specifications to the fully imported CBU model, priced unchanged at RM119,740 on the road without insurance.
  • Powered by a 135 kW (184 PS) single rear-mounted electric motor and a 65.7 kWh LFP battery, the electric SUV achieves up to 426 km of NEDC driving range with customer handovers beginning in October 2026.

The move follows the local assembly milestone achieved by the dual-motor iCAUR 03 iWD (intelligent all-wheel drive) variant earlier this year, establishing full domestic assembly status across the entire 03 nameplate. Despite the manufacturing shift to local production lines, iCAUR Malaysia has maintained exact parity with the original CBU specification sheet and price tag.

Powertrain Output and Battery Capabilities

Under the skin, the locally assembled iCAUR 03 RWD maintains its single-motor drivetrain layout. The rear-mounted electric drive unit delivers a maximum output of 135 kW (184 PS) alongside 220 Nm of peak torque, allowing for direct low-speed response and steady highway overtaking capability. Drivers can tailor throttle responsiveness and dynamic parameters through five selectable driving modes designed to adapt to varied road and weather conditions.

High-voltage energy storage is handled by a 65.7 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack, delivering a certified driving range of up to 426 km on the NEDC testing cycle. Replenishing the pack is supported by an onboard AC charger accommodating up to 6.6 kW for home and destination charging, while commercial fast charging is serviced by an 80 kW DC input capability.

Design Language and Market Availability

Aesthetically, the CKD model preserves the vehicle’s signature retro-classic visual theme. The SUV is characterized by upright, squared-off proportions, an upright glasshouse, pronounced wheel arch contours, and contrasting rugged exterior trims that contrast modern EV design cues with utilitarian off-road aesthetics.

Industrial assembly of the iCAUR 03 RWD began at the plant in September 2026, with the inaugural batch of customer deliveries scheduled to commence nationwide in October 2026. iCAUR Auto Malaysia confirmed that initial CKD allocations will be released in limited numbers as factory lines scale output, with authorized sales channels actively accepting bookings at the unchanged RM119,740 price point.
