Toyota has officially pulled the covers off the 2027 Corolla Hatchback, introducing a mid-cycle refresh that brings welcomed technological upgrades to the cabin and fresh accessory options. However, the update comes at the cost of the sporty FX variant, which has been quietly discontinued from the lineup.
Bigger Screens and Better Tech

For the 2027 model year, Toyota has heavily focused its efforts on digitizing the Corolla Hatchback’s interior.
- SE Variant: The entry-level SE now comes standard with a new 7-inch digital instrument cluster, replacing the older analog-heavy setup, and is paired with an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen.
- XSE Variant: The top-spec XSE benefits from a massive 12.3-inch fully digital gauge cluster and a larger 10.5-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia touchscreen as standard equipment, giving the cabin a much more premium feel.
- SE Premium Package: Buyers who prefer the base SE trim but want the larger screens can now opt for the newly introduced SE Premium Package. This bundles the 12.3-inch cluster and 10.5-inch screen without forcing buyers to step all the way up to the premium XSE grade.
JDM-Inspired White Wheels, But No More FX

On the outside, the visual changes are kept subtle. The exterior color palette expands with two new shades known as Inked and Blueprint, alongside a two-tone Blueprint option that comes with a black roof.
The most exciting aesthetic addition is the availability of genuine Toyota 18-inch gloss white alloy wheels from the official accessory catalog. These wheels are expected to be a massive hit among JDM styling enthusiasts, especially when contrasted against darker body colors.
Unfortunately, the Corolla FX trim—which was previously loved for its sporty styling and standard white rims—has been axed from the lineup for 2027. Buyers are now left with a simple choice between the SE and XSE grades, though they can theoretically recreate the FX look by adding the optional white wheels and an accessory rear spoiler to a standard SE model.
Proven Powertrain Retained

Underneath the metal, things remain completely unchanged. The 2027 Corolla Hatchback continues to be powered by the reliable 2.0-liter Dynamic Force naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine.
It produces 169 horsepower and 205 Nm of torque, sending power exclusively to the front wheels through Toyota’s Dynamic Shift continuously variable transmission. This unique transmission features a physical first gear for more direct off-the-line acceleration before smoothly handing duties over to the traditional steel belt and pulley system.
Pricing and Availability
In the United States, the 2027 Toyota Corolla Hatchback starts at 24,780 US dollars, which is equivalent to around RM100,792 for the base SE model. This marks a slight 200 dollar increase over the previous year. The range-topping XSE starts at 29,170 US dollars, representing a 500 dollar bump. The updated models are expected to begin arriving at North American dealerships later this summer.
