Three Dead in Kulai After Car and Two Lorries Collision

Kulai, Johor — A serious traffic accident in Kulai on Tuesday afternoon claimed three lives and injured three others.

The crash happened around 4:15 pm on Jalan Senai–Seelong. A Perodua Bezza carrying four passengers was hit from behind by a lorry. The car then swerved into the opposite lane and collided with a second lorry.

Casualties

The 23-year-old driver of the second lorry died at the scene. Another lorry driver, aged 46, and a 65-year-old female passenger from the car later died at Hospital Temenggong Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim. The car’s driver, 68, and two elderly female passengers, aged 65 and 87, suffered serious injuries. They were sent to Hospital Sultanah Aminah, Johor Bahru.

Police Investigation

Police have launched an investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which deals with causing death by reckless or dangerous driving. Authorities ask anyone with information to contact Inspector Ahmad Safuan Abu Naim at 017-7573507 or visit the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division at the Kulai District Police Headquarters.

This accident highlights concerns over road safety, especially on highways used by heavy vehicles. Police are working to determine the cause of the crash.
