Proton Saga MC3 2026 Debuts With Bigger Power, Modern Tech and Full ADAS Upgrade

Proton has introduced the new Saga MC3, a major update to its best-selling sedan. The car now offers better performance, safer features and a modern design. It also keeps its reputation as an affordable option for Malaysian drivers.

Improved Engine and Efficiency

The Saga MC3 uses a 1.5-litre i-GT engine with 120 PS and 150 Nm. This is a clear improvement from the previous model.
In addition, Proton offers two transmissions: a 4AT for lower variants and a CVT for the Premium variant. Fuel use is low, at 4.9–5.1 L/100 km, depending on the model.

Fresh Design and Updated Cabin

The exterior now includes LED headlights, a new grille and full LED taillights for the Premium variant.
Inside, the car features a cleaner dashboard, a new steering wheel and a dual-screen layout. The Premium trim also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Moreover, buyers can choose from five colours: Marine Blue, Space Grey, Ruby Red, Armour Silver and Snow White.

Stronger Safety Features

Safety is a key focus.
The Premium variant includes six airbags and nine ADAS functions, such as AEB, Lane Departure Warning and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert.
Because of these upgrades, the Saga has earned a 4-star ASEAN NCAP rating.

Variants and Prices

Proton offers the car in three trims: Standard, Executive and Premium. Prices start from:

  • RM38,990 – Standard
  • RM44,990 – Executive
  • RM49,990 – Premium

Furthermore, early buyers receive one-year / 20,000 km free service and a limited Touch ’n Go card.

Conclusion

The new Saga MC3 delivers better performance, modern tech and stronger safety. As a result, it stands out as one of the best value sedans in Malaysia today.
