RM1.99 RON95: The Future of Subsidies or Just a Digital Shortcut?
From 30 September 2025, Malaysians can fuel up and enjoy the BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) subsidy without touching the MyKad terminal. Caltex has teamed up with the government to make the process digital through its CaltexGO app.
What is BUDI95?

The government introduced BUDI95 to channel subsidies fairly. Eligible motorists can pump RON95 at RM1.99 per litre, capped at 300 litres a month. The usual price stays at RM2.60 per litre.
The rules are simple. Malaysians aged 16 and above with a valid licence qualify automatically. Those who don’t qualify can still buy RON95, just not at the subsidised rate.
Why CaltexGO Matters
Here’s the big shift: no more swiping MyKad at the pump. Instead, CaltexGO verifies everything through your phone. That means less waiting, fewer queues, and more convenience. This is after the announcement of the fuel price with subsidy overhaul
Leong Jee Wong, Country Chairman of Caltex Malaysia, said the change supports the government’s effort to target subsidies. He also noted that customers gain instant savings while fueling with Techron®-enhanced petrol.
Three Steps to Get Started
The process is quick:
- Download CaltexGO. Register free on the App Store or Google Play.
- Link your Touch ‘n Go eWallet. Tap the BUDI95 banner, connect your account, and complete the eKYC check.
- Fuel and pay with CaltexGO. The subsidy applies instantly, no card required.
New users also receive an RM5 fuel reward when they register.

More Than Just Subsidies
CaltexGO offers more than a discount. Drivers can pay cashless, track spending, and unlock special promotions. Adding BUDI95 to the mix makes the app even more valuable.
