By The Billions Signs MOU to Strengthen Off-Roading Community

Launch of the Malayan Xpedition 2025
Kuala Lumpur, 19 September 2025 – By The Billions (BTB), a cars, community, and content platform, has officially launched the Malayan Xpedition 2025, an overland journey designed to showcase Malaysia’s rugged landscapes and vibrant off-roading culture.

Strategic Partnerships with SFWDA and M4TREC

The launch was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with two strategic partners: the Sabah Four Wheel Drive Association (SFWDA) and the Malaysia 4WD Training & Experience Centre (M4TREC). Representing the partners at the ceremony were Faez Nordin and Alex Leong of SFWDA, Derek Low of M4TREC, and Ned Nazlan, Founder of By The Billions. The agreement sets the stage for a long-term collaboration to establish the Malayan Xpedition as a permanent feature in Malaysia’s off-road and adventure calendar. Both SFWDA and M4TREC will bring their expertise to strengthen the initiative, with M4TREC providing integrated training and certification for participants, and SFWDA offering guidance from its extensive experience running the globally renowned Borneo Safari.

Tourism Recognition and Economic Support

The Malayan Xpedition has been officially included in Tourism Pahang’s annual calendar, underscoring its role in supporting tourism and contributing to the local economy. Speaking at the launch, BTB Founder Ned Nazlan reflected on the company’s journey from its early days in 2022 to now. He highlighted the significance of creating a platform that unites Malaysia’s growing off-roading community, emphasizing BTB’s commitment to making the activity safer, more inclusive, and sustainable.

Connecting Malaysia’s Off-Roading Community
The event also featured a pre-briefing for participants, culminating in a group photo opportunity. The Malayan Xpedition was developed to meet the rising demand for organized large-scale 4×4 expeditions in Peninsular Malaysia. Designed for both beginners and seasoned adventurers, it will connect drivers, brands, and destinations across the interiors of West Malaysia. With the guidance of SFWDA, BTB aims to refine the expedition format while fostering connections within the off-road community.

Industry Collaborations and Brand Support
Further strengthening its industry ties, BTB announced Letters of Agreement with leading automotive, accessories, and lifestyle brands. Among the collaborators are UMW Grantt International, Ford Sime Darby Auto Connexion, BFGoodrich Tyres, FIVE Petroleum, Ironman 4×4, Tough Dog, Pedders, and more. These partnerships underscore the wide-ranging support behind the initiative.

Flagship Events in 2025

The MOU also sets the stage for BTB’s key events in 2025. The 4 Wheels Fest & Adventure Festival, scheduled for 11–12 October at Awana Genting, will bring together enthusiasts for convoy sessions, outdoor challenges, and lifestyle showcases. Just days later, from 11–16 October, the Malayan Xpedition itself will unfold. This curated expedition combines off-road driving with cultural immersion and conservation activities. Highlights include night drives, river crossings, kayaking, and visits to Orang Asli villages, where participants will contribute medical aid and community support before concluding with a beachside dinner.

Building a Responsible Off-Roading Culture
By The Billions’ flagship events merge automotive culture with lifestyle and adventure, reflecting the brand’s ethos of “real stories, real people, real experiences.” Since its founding in 2022, BTB has grown from niche gatherings like Land Cruiser Day to major events such as the Rainforest Trophy Expedition. With the Malayan Xpedition, it takes another bold step in building a dynamic and responsible off-roading culture in Malaysia.
