Home Minister’s Reminder on MyKad

KUALA LUMPUR — Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has called on Malaysians to check their MyKad cards and ensure that the embedded chip functions properly. He explained that identity verification via MyKad is required in order to receive the targeted subsidy for RON95 petrol.

Repair Services at JPN

If the chip is damaged or cannot be read, Saifuddin urged individuals not to worry, as they may go to any office or counter of the National Registration Department (JPN) nationwide for repairs. He assured that these repairs are usually completed on the same day, and encouraged people to conduct checks early rather than waiting until the last moment so they may benefit smoothly from the subsidy.

Petrol Price Reduction to RM1.99

He also highlighted that the price of RON95 petrol is expected to drop to RM1.99 per litre by the end of the month once the targeted subsidy is implemented. This follows Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s promise to ensure the reduction, which Saifuddin said will ease the financial burden of Malaysians.

Commitment of the MADANI Government
Saifuddin stressed that the MADANI government is committed to looking after the wellbeing of all segments of society while ensuring economic development with integrity and responsibility. Prime Minister Anwar also reaffirmed that the government will uphold its pledges for the people’s benefit, including lowering fuel costs.
