Ford has unveiled the Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon, taking the model’s radical design to an entirely new level by dropping conventional paint for a fully exposed carbon-fiber body. This daring approach pays off: the car sheds approximately 13 pounds compared to the Mustang GTD Carbon Series equipped with the Performance Pack. Adding to the weight reduction, Ford replaces traditional door sheet metal with bonded carbon-fiber, which is not only lighter but also underscores the vehicle’s purposeful performance ethos.
Exquisite Carbon-Fiber Craftsmanship

Visual craftsmanship is a standout element of the Liquid Carbon. The carbon-fiber weave is exquisitely matched through the hood, roof, rear wing, and rear deck, creating a harmonious, uninterrupted pattern across the car’s midline. This design elevates the already attention-grabbing aesthetic of the Carbon Series and transforms it into a tour de force of automotive artistry.
Performance Pack as Standard

Beneath the raw carbon skin, the Liquid Carbon comes equipped with the GTD’s Performance Pack as standard. Included are 20-inch magnesium wheels that conceal black Brembo brake calipers inscribed with anodized “GTD” script. The package further enhances the car’s aerodynamic capabilities and strips away certain sound-deadening materials in favor of weight savings and sharper performance.
Powerful Supercharged V8
Powering the Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon is Ford’s supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 engine, delivering a formidable 815 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. Complementing its immense power is a semi-active rear inboard pushrod suspension, a feature that aligns with the GT3-inspired performance pedigree of the GTD lineup.
Interior with Hyper Lime Accents

Inside, the cabin continues the theme of aggressive elegance. Seats and panels are upholstered in black leather combined with Dinamica microfiber suede, accented throughout with Hyper Lime stitching on the seats, door panels, steering wheel, and center console. A reflective center gradient on the seat centers adds subtle visual intrigue.
Exclusivity and Pricing
Production is set to begin with deliveries arriving in October, positioning the Liquid Carbon as a compelling new variant alongside the GTD Spirit of America edition. While Ford has not disclosed pricing yet, expectations are that it will exceed the GTD’s base price of around $327,000, reflecting the exclusivity and artisanal nature of the Liquid Carbon’s design.
