Mercedes‑AMG has unveiled the GT XX Concept, a bold and futuristic electric fastback that redefines what performance sedans can achieve. With cutting-edge design, mind-blowing performance, and a glimpse into AMG’s electric future, the GT XX is set to take on rivals like the Porsche Taycan and Tesla Model S Plaid.
Monstrous Powertrain with 1,341 Horsepower

The heart of the GT XX lies in its triple electric motor configuration—two motors powering the rear wheels and one at the front. These axial-flux motors, known for their compact design and high power density, deliver a combined 1,341 horsepower.
With all-wheel drive and active torque vectoring, the car is expected to hit a top speed of 223 mph, rivaling even the most elite hypercars.
Next-Level Charging and Battery Technology

Built on an 800-volt electric architecture, the GT XX doesn’t just go fast—it charges fast. Its NCMA (Nickel Cobalt Manganese Aluminum) battery supports charging at up to 850 kW, allowing it to regain up to 248 miles (400 km WLTP) in just five minutes. The system draws nearly 1 megawatt of power during peak charging, a benchmark even among the most advanced EVs.
Aerodynamics and Wheel Innovation
The exterior of the GT XX is engineered for extreme aerodynamic efficiency, achieving a drag coefficient of just 0.198. One standout feature is its active aero wheels, which feature movable blades that adjust based on speed and driving conditions. These wheels generate their own energy through rotation and actively manage airflow for improved cooling and range.
Dramatic, Race-Inspired Interior

Inside the GT XX, form meets function. The cabin features deep, race-style carbon fiber bucket seats covered in synthetic leather made from recycled AMG GT3 tires. A yoke-style steering wheel, twin digital screens, and minimalist control layout provide a futuristic driving interface.
The cabin also features a unique faux-V8 sound system—produced via external speakers, including ones integrated into the headlights—to simulate a combustion engine experience.

Striking Exterior Design Language
The GT XX’s styling blends classic AMG cues with futuristic touches. A pronounced shark-nose front, oversized grille, and retro-style round taillights define its visual identity. Despite its concept car flair, many design cues are expected to make it to production, giving the upcoming AMG EV a distinctive road presence.
Preview of a Future Production Model
Mercedes-AMG confirms that the GT XX is not just a showpiece. It closely previews a production AMG electric sedan set to launch between late 2025 and 2026. This flagship EV will be the first to ride on the dedicated AMG.EA platform and will be followed by a high-riding SUV version, expanding AMG’s electric lineup.
Reimagining the AMG Experience for the Electric Age
AMG has worked hard to ensure that electrification doesn’t mean losing its distinctive brand identity. The GT XX integrates an “authentic AMG” experience—complete with simulated gearshifts via paddles and a purposefully engineered soundtrack. The company even describes its electric sound signature as “the best V8 we’ve ever developed,” blending heritage with innovation.
