Juru, Penang – 20 November 2025: Two men died after their multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) collided with a truck on the North–South Expressway near Juru late Wednesday night.
The crash, which occurred around 11:22 p.m., prompted swift action from fire and rescue teams. Emergency responders had to extricate the victims from the badly damaged MPV, which suffered severe impact.
The victims were identified as Mohamad Nizar Abdul Rahman, 32, the driver, and Muhammad Fakhrur Razi Usri, 31, a passenger. The truck driver, Ismail Che Dat, 37, who was transporting fruits, was uninjured.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision. No official statement has been released regarding potential factors such as vehicle speed or road conditions.
Motorists are urged to drive carefully on the North–South Expressway, especially during late-night hours, to avoid similar tragedies.
