Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has released a severe thunderstorm warning covering Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and several other states, effective until 5:00 pm today.
Areas Affected by the Alert
The warning includes parts of Pahang—specifically Bentong, Bera, Pekan, and Rompin—along with the districts of Gombak, Petaling, Hulu Langat, and Sepang in Selangor. The Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya are also under alert, as well as Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban, Kuala Pilah, Jempol, and Tampin) and the state of Johor.
Expected Weather Conditions

Residents in these areas should be prepared for heavy thunderstorms with rainfall exceeding 20 mm per hour, potentially lasting over an hour, which may cause flash floods and property damage.
Recent Severe Weather Incident
This warning comes just days after a violent storm struck Kuala Lumpur on September 22, toppling trees and damaging vehicles. Despite the destruction, no injuries were reported.
