Xpeng and Charge+ Launch Fast EV Chargers at KL Eco City

Opening of New Charging Hub
Xpeng and Charge+ have launched a new set of fast EV chargers at KL Eco City in Malaysia. This marks an important step in their joint effort to build a regional supercharging network across Southeast Asia, which will eventually support charging capacities of up to 480 kW DC. The KL Eco City hub is among the first four locations out of at least 20 planned stations, joining sites already operating in Singapore and Thailand.

Charger Specifications and Pricing
Located at Level LL of KL Eco City, the hub offers six fast chargers: two 350 kW DC units, two 250 kW DC units, and two 200 kW DC units. The pricing has been set at RM1 per kilowatt-hour (kWh), and the chargers are open to all car brands. Xpeng owners will enjoy special discounts at all Charge+ stations in Southeast Asia for the next three years, with further incentives at co-branded superchargers.

App Integration for Xpeng Owners

Xpeng vehicle owners will soon be able to access these chargers directly through the Xpeng app. By the end of the year, this integration will extend to vehicle dashboards, allowing drivers to start and stop charging directly from their cars, enhancing convenience and connectivity.

Future Expansion Plans
Xpeng and Charge+ aim to expand the network further in Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand, with plans to extend into Indonesia. Target locations include busy commercial centers, shopping malls, and highway rest stops, ensuring accessibility for long-distance EV travel.

The Longest EV Charging Backbone in Southeast Asia

Charge+ is also working on creating a 5,000 km DC charging “highway” that will link Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Once completed, it will be the longest EV charging backbone in Southeast Asia.

Xpeng’s Strategy Against Rivals
This development aligns with Xpeng’s broader strategy to establish its own DC fast charging network in ASEAN, competing with Tesla’s Supercharger network while partnering with regional infrastructure providers to accelerate growth.

Fast Charging Capability of Xpeng Models
Xpeng’s new vehicles are designed to make the most of ultra-fast charging. The facelifted G6, equipped with 800V architecture, can charge from 10–80% in just 12 minutes. Meanwhile, the X9 achieves the same charge range in about 20 minutes, with peak charging speeds of over 280 kW for smaller battery versions and more than 317 kW for larger ones.
