Historic Delivery in California
The highly anticipated Jetson One electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft has officially landed in the United States, with the very first delivery made to a California-based tech innovator. The delivery, which took place in Carlsbad, California, was attended by Jetson’s CTO Tomasz Patan and CEO Stephan D’haene, who personally oversaw the unboxing and pre-flight checks of this groundbreaking flying machine.
Palmer Luckey Takes Flight

The recipient of this exclusive delivery is 33-year-old Palmer Luckey, the renowned founder of Oculus and defense-tech startup Anduril Industries. Luckey, an experienced aviator and tech pioneer, managed to master the aircraft in under 50 minutes before taking to the skies for his first low-altitude test flight—a feat that sets a new training record and highlights the Jetson One’s user-friendly design.
Jetson One Founders Edition
This inaugural delivery marks the beginning of Jetson’s global rollout. The Founders Edition is a limited series of just 100 units worldwide. Each comes with leather upholstery, front and rear LED lighting, a welcome screen, a front fairing red swoosh, and a numbered plaque embedded in the carbon headrest. Accessories include a carbon ground dolly, smart battery chargers, sturdy battery box trolleys, and a transport kit with protective rail components.
Delays and Patience

Originally scheduled for delivery in early 2023, Palmer Luckey’s Jetson One experienced delays typical of complex startup ventures. Throughout the wait, Jetson maintained open communication, earning Luckey’s appreciation and patience—he reportedly encouraged the company to take its time and perfect the aircraft.
Flying Made Accessible

The moment Luckey lifted off in the Jetson One underscored the aircraft’s accessibility. It does not require a formal pilot’s license or extensive training, embodying Jetson’s ambition to make flying as common and effortless as driving. The Jetson One is powered by a 102-horsepower all-electric system with eight motors, and safety is enhanced by a built-in parachute.
Orders and Future Availability

Jetson began shipping its One units this year, and with production for 2025 and 2026 already fully booked, new orders—priced at US $128,000—are projected to ship in 2027.
Expansion Plans in the U.S.
Looking ahead, Jetson plans to expand its U.S. operations by setting up a new headquarters in California and increasing pilot training and deliveries across the United States and Europe.
