The Taycan Turbo GT arrives with up to 1,092 bhp and a blistering 0–62 mph time of just 2.2 seconds, having recently smashed the Nürburgring production EV lap record. In contrast, the Lotus Emeya 900 counters with 905 bhp, a 102 kWh battery, and design lines that echo Italian exotica, setting the stage for an electrifying battle.

Under the skin, the Emeya shares the Geely Electric Premium Architecture with the Eletre SUV, offering dual motors and even a two-speed gearbox on the rear axle. Drive modes allow tailored responses for road or track. The Taycan Turbo GT is no less advanced, equipped with an 800V electrical system, 320 kW DC fast charging, and highly intelligent active chassis management that sets the standard for EV handling and efficiency.
Charging, Range and Practicality
The Emeya supports ultra-fast charging and claims a WLTP range of up to 379 miles, though real-world use might tell a slightly different story. Porsche doesn’t chase headline range numbers but focuses on sustained performance and rapid charge recovery, with infrastructure already proving its worth on global drives.
Price and Value Comparison
The Taycan Turbo GT starts around £178,500 and easily climbs over £199,000 with the Weissach package and options. The Emeya, starting at about £129,990, undercuts the Porsche significantly while delivering strong performance, a high-end interior, and more everyday usability. This makes the Emeya a value proposition that appeals to those who want an exciting EV without sacrificing comfort or practicality.
Verdict: Sharp Precision or Everyday Versatility?
While the Taycan Turbo GT remains the sharper, faster, and more track-focused machine, the Lotus Emeya 900 offers a more well-rounded, luxurious, and surprisingly athletic alternative. Porsche keeps its crown for those chasing ultimate speed and composure. But for buyers wanting luxury, comfort, performance, and tech in one stylish package, the Emeya is a remarkable new contender—and arguably, the smarter buy for most.
