McLaren’s Most Exclusive Hypercar

McLaren is redefining the hypercar experience with its latest initiative, Project: Endurance. This isn’t just about owning an elite track car—it’s about becoming deeply involved in the development of a machine built to compete on the world stage, including the legendary Le Mans circuit. Designed for the most passionate enthusiasts, this program offers an unparalleled fusion of ownership, engineering access, and motorsport immersion.

From Factory to Track: The Essence of Project: Endurance

Project: Endurance is more than just a customer car—it is the direct descendant of McLaren’s upcoming 2027 Le Mans Daytona h (LMDh) hypercar. Developed collaboratively by McLaren Automotive and McLaren Racing, and constructed using a race-grade chassis by Dallara, this track machine mirrors the bones of McLaren’s future FIA World Endurance Championship contender. While the car itself is not eligible to race, its DNA is drawn from the very same design and testing platform that will soon thunder down the Mulsanne Straight.

Performance and Design Rooted in Racing Heritage

This hypercar is powered by a twin-turbocharged V6 engine derived from McLaren’s Artura, assisted by a hybrid system in line with LMDh regulations. The design cues borrow heavily from McLaren’s aggressive track stars like the Senna, blending aerodynamic efficiency with striking race-inspired aesthetics. While born from competition, the customer version is tuned to be more forgiving than its racing counterpart, delivering both fierce performance and accessible control.

Becoming Part of the Journey

Unlike traditional hypercar ownership, buyers of Project: Endurance are offered something much deeper: the opportunity to follow the vehicle’s development over a full two-year period.

Customers will gain exclusive access to McLaren’s internal engineering processes, attend private testing sessions, and even participate in a driver development program. It’s a holistic ownership experience—turning customers into collaborators and giving them a front-row seat to the evolution of a top-tier endurance machine.

A Strategic Comeback to Le Mans

McLaren’s announcement of their 2027 return to the World Endurance Championship with a new LMDh entry marks a major comeback since their last Le Mans triumph in 1995. Project: Endurance is the public-facing chapter of that journey, reflecting the brand’s renewed commitment to top-class endurance racing.

United Autosports, part-owned by McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown, will be the official race team representing McLaren in the WEC. Project: Endurance acts as a bridge, connecting the racing world with the customer experience.

Exclusivity Meets Performance

This hypercar is more than just fast—it’s rare and immersive. Unlike traditional road-legal hypercars built for occasional use, Project: Endurance is optimized for intense, repeatable track performance.

The program targets those who don’t just want to drive fast, but who want to understand what makes a racing machine tick. McLaren is inviting its most committed customers to not only buy a piece of engineering excellence, but to help shape its destiny.

Timeline and the Road Ahead

Revealed during the 2025 Le Mans weekend, Project: Endurance will begin its customer-involved development cycle over the next two years, leading up to the 2027 debut of McLaren’s official LMDh race car.

The customer cars will evolve alongside the competition machines, sharing test data and development strategies under a unified program. When McLaren hits the track at Le Mans in 2027, these customers will know they’ve been part of the process from day one.

Conclusion: Motorsport Ownership Redefined

McLaren’s Project: Endurance breaks the mold. It’s not just about having a hypercar—it’s about becoming a part of something legendary. For those few who are invited to participate, this is more than ownership. It’s access to racing heritage, performance innovation, and the thrill of helping develop a future Le Mans icon. Project: Endurance isn’t just about speed. It’s about purpose, passion, and prestige, delivered the McLaren way.
