Proton e.MAS Records 6,047 Deliveries in August 2026, Driven by High-Volume e.MAS 5 Uptake

Proton New Energy Technology Sdn Bhd (PRO-NET) achieved its highest monthly delivery volume to date in August 2026, moving 6,047 electrified vehicles under the Proton e.MAS brand across domestic and export markets, achieving the milestone 20 months following the market debut of the e.MAS 7 in December 2024.

  • Proton e.MAS records 6,047 total deliveries in August 2026, comprising 5,999 domestic registrations and lifting cumulative year-to-date volume to 27,855 units.
  • The compact e.MAS 5 accounted for 4,770 units—representing nearly 80% of local registrations—supplemented by balanced deliveries of the e.MAS 7 (613 units) and e.MAS 7 PHEV (616 units).
  • Physical retail footprint broadens to 60 dealerships, 46 service workshops, and 103 dealership-based DC chargers, backed by digital access to over 4,700 nationwide charging points.

The monthly performance was anchored by 5,999 domestic registrations, reflecting an operational registration cadence averaging one vehicle every seven minutes over the 31-day period.

Model contributions were led predominantly by the entry-level e.MAS 5 hatchback, which generated 4,770 local registrations to account for roughly four-fifths of the brand’s domestic intake. The remaining volume was split between the e.MAS 7 battery-electric SUV at 613 units and the locally assembled e.MAS 7 PHEV plug-in hybrid at 616 units.

Geographically, buyer demand remained heavily concentrated along the western corridor of Peninsular Malaysia. Selangor represented the primary volume contributor at 51% of total local sales, followed by Johor and Penang. Combined, these three states generated 71% of August registrations, with the remaining 29% distributed across other Peninsular states and East Malaysia.

Through the first eight months of 2026, domestic registrations accumulated to 27,402 vehicles. International distribution channels added 453 completely built-up export units shipped across four active markets—Singapore, Nepal, Trinidad & Tobago, and Mauritius—bringing total global volume to 27,855 units year-to-date.

To accommodate fleet growth, PRO-NET has scaled its brick-and-mortar touchpoints over the past 12 months. The retail organisation currently encompasses 60 operating dealerships, 46 dedicated service centres, and 10 Body & Paint facilities, marking an expansion from the 36 outlets and 29 workshops recorded as of 31 August 2025.

On the charging front, 103 proprietary DC fast-charging bays have been installed across selected retail outlets. Digital roaming infrastructure integrated into the vehicle operating system and mobile application currently indexes over 4,700 public charging connectors nationwide, which includes more than 1,500 chargers deployed across 600 multi-unit high-rise residential properties.

Workforce preparation has also been expanded to support aftersales capacity. In coordination with TVETMARA, PRO-NET launched the Aftersales Skills Competition to evaluate technical competencies among service advisors and workshop personnel, establishing structured vocational training pipelines to build certified high-voltage technicians as local EV adoption expands.

Zhang Qiang, Chief Executive Officer of PRO-NET, stated that reaching 5,999 domestic registrations within a single month reflects increasing consumer confidence in the brand’s electrified products, adding that ongoing network development and local technician training remain critical priorities to support the operating vehicle fleet.
