2026 BYD Atto 3 Performance Launched in Malaysia – 330 kW Dual-Motor AWD, 74.88 kWh Battery, Capped at 69 Units at RM149,800

BYD Sime Motors has officially expanded its electric crossover range in Malaysia with the introduction of the 2026 BYD Atto 3 Performance on 11 September 2026, bringing an all-wheel-drive dual-motor configuration strictly limited to a production run of 69 units priced at RM149,800 on the road without insurance.

  • Flagship Performance variant joins the Malaysian lineup in a 69-unit allocation, delivering an all-wheel-drive output of 330 kW (449 PS) and 560 Nm with a 4.0-second 0–100 km/h acceleration time.
  • Equipped with a 74.88 kWh Blade battery pack providing up to 530 km of NEDC driving range and supporting DC fast-charging rates up to 220 kW.
  • Cabin gains a Windscreen Head-Up Display (W-HUD) and an onboard heating/cooling refrigerator, accompanied by launch incentives valued at up to RM10,000.

The introduction of the Performance trim completes the refreshed 2026 Atto 3 portfolio alongside the Ultra and Premium variants introduced earlier in the year. The 69-unit allocation commemorates Malaysia’s 69th National Day, slotting above the single-motor variants as the most powerful production iteration of the model line.

Mechanical propulsion moves to a twin-motor, all-wheel-drive layout generating a combined system output of 330 kW and 560 Nm of torque. The twin-axle tractive hardware enables the compact crossover to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds, representing the quickest acceleration figure recorded by an Atto 3 derivative.

Electrical energy is supplied by a 74.88 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) Blade battery unit, rated to provide an operating range of up to 530 km under NEDC testing protocols. The high-voltage electrical architecture accommodates DC fast-charging inputs up to 220 kW, facilitating rapid battery replenishment on compatible high-output DC charging networks.

Interior and active safety equipment receive selective revisions over the existing variants:

  • In-Cabin Convenience: Integration of a factory-fitted centre console refrigerator featuring independent cooling and warming modes, marking the first time the feature has been offered on an Atto 3 variant.
  • Driver Instrumentation: Addition of a Windscreen Head-Up Display (W-HUD) projecting speed and navigation telemetry directly onto the windscreen glass.
  • Active Safety & ADAS: Retention of the comprehensive driver-assistance suite from the Premium model, incorporating Intelligent Speed Limit Control (ISLC), Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), Front Cross Traffic Alert (FCTA), and Front Cross Traffic Brake (FCTB).

Buyers securing one of the 69 units can choose between two promotional launch packages valued at up to RM10,000:

  • Option A: Complimentary home wallbox charger inclusive of standard domestic installation, paired with a vehicle trade-in overtrade allowance worth up to RM6,000.
  • Option B: Six-year standard scheduled service maintenance package, bundled with a vehicle trade-in overtrade allowance worth up to RM5,000.

Factory warranty protection aligns with standard BYD Sime Motors vehicle coverage, comprising a six-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, an eight-year or 160,000 km warranty for the high-voltage Blade battery, and eight-year or 160,000 km coverage on the electric drive assemblies. Each unit comes bundled with a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) bidirectional power adapter and a Type 2 emergency charging cable with a domestic three-pin plug.

Domestic market penetration for the Atto 3 model line has surpassed 13,000 cumulative registrations since its initial local introduction. The brand’s operational footprint in Malaysia currently encompasses 44 sales and marketing showrooms, 28 dedicated service centres, and 12 authorised Body & Paint facilities, supported by the recent rollout of the BYD Certified Pre-Owned programme.

Jacob Ma, Managing Director of BYD Malaysia, stated that the Performance variant broadens the model’s footprint by providing dual-motor capability and upgraded onboard technology while preserving the platform’s utility. Adeline Lew, Managing Director of BYD Sime Motors, noted that following the delivery of 13,000 Atto 3 units locally, expanding the retail, aftersales, and certified pre-owned infrastructure remains central to supporting the manufacturer’s operational growth in the market.
