Tiggo Cross Hybrid and Turbo Now Made in Kulim

The Chery Tiggo Cross, the brand’s most compact and affordable SUV to date, has officially begun local assembly at Inokom’s manufacturing facility in Kulim, Kedah. This milestone follows the SUV’s recent launch on 9 July and marks a significant step forward in Chery Malaysia’s localisation strategy. Available in both Turbo and Hybrid variants, the Tiggo Cross is designed to cater to the demands of modern Malaysian drivers, offering fuel efficiency, stylish design, and advanced smart technology.

Chery’s Commitment to Malaysia

According to Michael Chew, Vice President of Chery Malaysia, the Tiggo Cross is tailored for a new generation of drivers, combining affordability with performance and smart features. He also highlighted the importance of leveraging local expertise and partnerships to ensure global quality standards are met while remaining relevant to Malaysian consumers.

Strong Local Partnership with Inokom

Sui Keng Huat, Managing Director of Inokom Corporation, expressed gratitude for Chery’s ongoing trust and praised the collaborative efforts that have made the local assembly of this model possible. He reaffirmed Inokom’s commitment to delivering high-quality vehicles through a skilled local workforce and robust production systems.

Two Powertrain Options: Turbo and Hybrid

The Tiggo Cross is available in two powertrains: a 1.5L Turbo and the Hybrid CSH model. The Hybrid variant is powered by Chery’s Super Hybrid system, which seamlessly blends petrol and electric power for optimal efficiency during city driving. This system draws on both Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) and Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) technologies, offering excellent range, performance, and EV-like driving capabilities.

Exceptional Range and Efficiency
With a range of up to 1,000 km on a full tank and charge, the Tiggo Cross stands out as a cost-effective and eco-friendly choice for daily drivers. Chery’s decision to assemble this model in Malaysia reflects its long-term vision for sustainable growth and its ongoing commitment to providing competitively priced, high-quality vehicles for the local market.

Global Success of the Tiggo Cross

On a global scale, the Tiggo Cross has been instrumental in establishing Chery’s presence. Earlier this year, the brand celebrated the export of its one-millionth Tiggo Cross unit from China, underlining its popularity and growing international recognition.

Pricing and Colour Options
The Turbo variant of the Tiggo Cross is priced from RM88,800 (West Malaysia) and is available in Carbon Black, Phantom Grey, Khaki White, and Blood Stone Red. Meanwhile, the Hybrid CSH variant starts at RM99,800 (West Malaysia) and comes in Carbon Black, Phantom Grey, Khaki White, and Moonlight Silver.
