Your Next Adventure Starts with the BMW R 1300 RT

Kuala Lumpur, 12 June 2025 – BMW Group Malaysia has officially introduced the All-New BMW R 1300 RT, the latest iteration of its iconic touring motorcycle. This evolution combines a refined design, cutting-edge technology, and unrivalled riding comfort, setting a new benchmark for performance-oriented touring.

Reimagining Touring with Modern Precision

At the heart of the All-New BMW R 1300 RT lies a completely redesigned approach to touring. Now lighter and more dynamic, the motorcycle is powered by a 1,300 cc twin-cylinder boxer engine—BMW’s most powerful boxer engine to date—offering 145 hp and 149 Nm of torque. This upgrade delivers an exhilarating riding experience across all terrains, whether it’s long-haul cruising or winding countryside roads.

Design That Marries Form and Function

The new model showcases a bold and refined exterior. With a flatter tank ramp, reduced front trim, and sleek bodywork, the R 1300 RT enhances visibility and handling. Three variants are available: the elegant Alpine White (Standard), the dark and distinguished Triple Black, and the athletic Impulse in Racing Blue metallic. Each features premium materials and finishes, including stainless steel components and distinctive windshield designs.

Ergonomics and Comfort for Long Journeys

The motorcycle’s rider triangle has been reengineered for better posture and control. Handlebars are set wider and further forward, placing the rider closer to the front wheel. The pillion experience is elevated with an extended rear seat and redesigned side cases for better legroom. Comfort seats for both rider and passenger are standard across all variants.

Smart Storage Solutions

Standard side cases (27 litres each) and optional Vario cases expand to 33 litres with electric locking and interior lighting. Topcases in 39- or 54-litre options are also available, with the latter featuring electric operation and a heated backrest—catering to every touring need.

Powertrain and Performance

The new boxer engine introduces a shorter stroke and larger bore, enhanced valves, and a higher compression ratio, ensuring a broader torque curve and more responsive delivery. Despite the power boost, BMW’s ShiftCam technology maintains fuel efficiency by adjusting valve timing and stroke according to riding demands.

Advanced Ride Modes and Suspension

With standard modes including Rain, Road, and Eco, and advanced Dynamic and Dynamic Pro modes (via Riding Modes Pro), riders can tailor the bike’s behavior to suit any environment. The Dynamic Chassis Adaption (DCA) system introduces further customization, while EVO Telelever and Paralever suspension systems ensure top-tier stability, comfort, and steering precision.

Illuminating the Road Ahead

A full LED headlight system comes standard, offering sharp visibility and signature aesthetics. The Headlight Pro system includes adaptive cornering lights and light modes that adjust based on lean angle and pitch, improving nighttime safety.

Connectivity and Dynamic Assistance

The All-New BMW R 1300 RT features a 10.25-inch full-colour TFT display, functioning as a digital cockpit. It supports split-screen views, smartphone connectivity, navigation, and integration with wearable tech. A Multicontroller and redesigned Favourites panel provide easy access to key functions.

Dynamic safety features are abundant, including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Engine Drag Torque Control (MSR), Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), and Integral ABS Pro. The optional Riding Assistant package adds radar-based tech such as Active Cruise Control, Front Collision Warning, and Lane Change Warning.

Premium Audio Experience

BMW elevates onboard entertainment with an enhanced audio system featuring premium speakers and adaptive sound profiles. The Audio Pro system, standard on Limited Edition models, includes upgraded components and a striking cockpit design with gold-dome tweeters and silver grilles.

Limited Edition Variants: The Power of Choice

Marking the local debut, BMW Motorrad Malaysia introduces two Limited Edition models—Triple Black and Impulse—each limited to five units nationwide. Both versions come with the full Comfort Package, including electric luggage systems, central locking, anti-theft alarm, and the upgraded Audio Pro system.

Pricing and Availability

The estimated retail prices (on-the-road, without insurance, inclusive of a 3-Year Warranty and Roadside Assistance) are as follows:
