Omoda C7 Neo: A Stylish New SUV for Malaysians

At the Malaysia Autoshow 2025, held at MAEPS Serdang, Omoda unveiled its latest innovation, the C7 Neo crossover SUV. This launch marks a significant milestone for Omoda, following its rebranding from Jaecoo Malaysia, and showcases the brand’s commitment to introducing cutting-edge vehicles to the Malaysian market.

Design and Aesthetics

The Omoda C7 Neo embodies the “Art in Motion” design philosophy, featuring a sleek and dynamic exterior that seamlessly blends modernity with futurism. Its distinctive lighting elements and sculpted body lines not only enhance its visual appeal but also improve aerodynamic efficiency. Inside, the cabin offers a luxurious experience with a 15.6-inch star-rail sliding infotainment screen, integrated sports seats, and a driver-centric layout that emphasizes both comfort and technology.

Performance and Powertrain

Under the hood, the C7 Neo is equipped with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine paired with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, delivering a balanced mix of power and efficiency. Additionally, a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) variant is expected to launch later this year, boasting an impressive combined range of over 1,200 km and an estimated output of 360 PS and 530 Nm of torque.

Technology and Features

The C7 Neo is packed with advanced technologies, including a comprehensive suite of driver-assistance systems, a high-resolution infotainment interface, and seamless smartphone integration. These features are designed to enhance safety, connectivity, and overall driving experience, catering to the needs of modern drivers.

Market Positioning and Availability

Omoda aims to position the C7 Neo as a premium yet accessible option in the compact SUV segment. With local assembly (CKD) planned at Chery Corporate Malaysia’s facility, the brand is committed to supporting the local economy and ensuring competitive pricing. The C7 Neo is expected to be available for purchase in the second half of 2025, offering Malaysian consumers a compelling blend of style, performance, and technology.
