KUALA LUMPUR, 12 August 2026 — Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has officially launched the Tayron R-Line, the range-topping variant of its new seven-seat SUV line. Positioned between the Tiguan and Touareg, the model is locally assembled (CKD) at the Volkswagen facility in Pekan, Pahang, alongside the 1.5-litre mild-hybrid Tayron Elegance.
Pricing and Maintenance Packages
The recommended retail price for the Tayron R-Line starts at RM237,490 (excluding the optional service package). When bundled with the Volkswagen Assurance Package (VAP)—which includes 5 years of free maintenance, a 5-year manufacturer warranty, and 5 years of roadside assistance—the retail price is RM250,074.
An introductory promotion for the first 69 registered owners extends the complimentary maintenance period to 7 years and adds accident and key replacement coverage.
Powertrain and Chassis Specifications
The R-Line variant is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive.

The Tayron R-Line features a three-row, seven-seat seating configuration (40:20:40 split second row and 50:50 split third row), expanding cargo capacity to 1,905 litres when both rear seating rows are folded.

- Safety & Driver Assistance: IQ.DRIVE system including Travel Assist with Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assist, Side Assist, Rear Traffic Alert, Front Assist, Emergency Assist, Park Assist Plus, Proactive Passenger Protection, and nine airbags (including a front-centre airbag).
Availability
Units will be available across authorized Volkswagen dealerships starting 13 August 2026, with display units on view at 1 Utama Shopping Centre through 31 August 2026.
