Drivers Report Car Issues After Refuelling at Petronas BBN Nilai, Official Confirmation Pending

Several drivers say their cars broke down after refuelling at the Petronas station in Bandar Baru Nilai (BBN). They believe the petrol may have been contaminated with water. However, Petronas has not confirmed this.

Reports From Drivers

Users on social media shared that their cars stalled or shook soon after they filled up at the station. Some said their mechanics found water in the fuel tank.
A few also claimed the station closed for a short time, but Petronas has not verified this.

No Official Statement Yet

Petronas has not released any statement about the issue.
Government agencies have also not confirmed any checks or fuel tests at the station.
Because of this, the number of affected vehicles and the cause of the breakdowns remain unclear.

Technical Possibility

Fuel can mix with water in rare situations. Leaks, condensation or maintenance problems may cause this.
When water enters the fuel system, a car may stall, lose power or fail to start.

What Drivers Should Do

Motorists who think they were affected should:

  • Keep their fuel receipts
  • Record workshop findings
  • Report the issue to Petronas
  • File a claim with the Tribunal for Consumer Claims Malaysia (TTPM) if needed

Awaiting Clarification

Drivers want Petronas to confirm whether an investigation is being carried out.
At this time, no official findings are available, and the claims remain unverified.
