Porsche Unveils the 2026 911 Turbo S

At the IAA Mobility Motor Show in Munich on September 7, 2025, Porsche introduced the 2026 911 Turbo S (992.2). This new flagship enters as the most powerful production 911 ever built, thanks to a groundbreaking hybrid-assisted system that strengthens performance while staying true to the brand’s driving heritage.

Hybrid Powertrain with Twin Electric Turbos

The Turbo S borrows its electrified setup from the Carrera GTS but takes it further with two electric turbochargers. This T-Hybrid configuration combines a 3.6-liter flat-six engine with a compact 1.9-kWh, 400-volt battery pack. The result is a staggering 701 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, giving the car a 61-hp advantage over its predecessor.

Performance Gains and Nürburgring Lap Record

Despite a weight increase of 85 kilograms, the new Turbo S accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.4 seconds and reaches 124 mph in 8.4 seconds, with a top speed of 200 mph. Around the Nürburgring Nordschleife, it set a blistering lap time of 7 minutes 3.92 seconds, 14 seconds faster than the outgoing model.

Aerodynamic and Exterior Enhancements

The car maintains the iconic 911 silhouette but features new active aerodynamic elements. Vertically aligned cooling flaps, an active front diffuser, and an adaptive rear wing optimize downforce, cooling, and stability at high speeds.

Interior with Exclusive Turbonite Finish

Inside, the Turbo S gains Porsche’s exclusive “Turbonite” trim, with metallic gray accents across the cabin. Buyers can choose between a standard two-seat layout or an optional 2+2 configuration at no extra cost, with Cabriolet versions including rear seats as standard.

Pricing and Market Launch

Set to hit showrooms in spring 2026, the Turbo S coupe will start at $272,650, while the cabriolet begins at $286,650. With options, the price can easily exceed $300,000, placing it at the very top of the 911 range.

A Balance of Tradition and Innovation

For Porsche, the Turbo line has always embodied a mix of elegance, power, and usability. The 2026 Turbo S raises the bar by blending hybrid innovation with timeless 911 design, ensuring it remains a daily-drivable supercar that delivers both luxury and raw performance.
