A devastating fire broke out late last night at a workshop in Section 24, Shah Alam, destroying thirty-seven cars and seven motorcycles. The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department confirmed receiving a distress call at 11:31 pm, which prompted the immediate dispatch of twenty-one firefighters equipped with three fire engines and a water tanker from Shah Alam and Bukit Jelutong stations.
Workshop Almost Completely Destroyed
Upon reaching the site, fire crews found the converted workshop, covering approximately 5,000 square feet, already engulfed in flames. About ninety percent of the premises had been consumed by the fire by the time firefighters arrived, leaving little chance of saving the structure or vehicles inside.
One Worker Injured While Escaping Flames
No fatalities were reported in the incident. However, one workshop employee suffered burns to his hands while attempting to drive a vehicle away from danger. Emergency responders provided immediate medical aid before the victim was taken to hospital by his family. His condition has been described as stable.
Fire Contained After Midnight
The blaze was brought under control at around 12:26 am, with full operations concluding at approximately 2:31 am. Fire officials have confirmed that investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the incident.
