BMW Sparks Thrill with New M Line-Up in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, 12 June 2025 – BMW Malaysia has unveiled its latest fleet of high-performance M models, headlined by the electrifying debut of the New BMW M5. This powerful introduction was joined by the New BMW M3 Competition M xDrive, the New BMW M4 Competition Coupé M xDrive, and the New BMW M2 – each bringing a unique blend of performance, innovation, and motorsport legacy to the Malaysian automotive landscape.

An Electrified Evolution: The New BMW M5

Marking a new chapter for the iconic performance sedan, the New BMW M5 debuts as the first-ever electrified M5. It combines an advanced plug-in hybrid system with an M TwinPower Turbo V8 engine, delivering a staggering 727 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque. With acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds, the M5 sets a new standard for hybrid sports sedans.

The design of the New BMW M5 reflects both elegance and aggression, with bold styling features such as a gloss black kidney grille with Iconic Glow, sculpted aprons, and 20”/21” M alloy wheels. The interior continues the performance theme with M-specific digital displays, carbon fibre trim, and Merino leather seats. A 466-litre boot and premium features like the Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system make it as practical as it is thrilling.

Hybrid Technology Meets Driving Dynamics

At the core of the New M5 is the M Hybrid system, integrating a fifth-generation electric motor with a high-voltage 18.6 kWh battery for up to 69 km of electric driving. The system offers seamless power delivery via an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission and intelligent M xDrive all-wheel drive. Dynamic drive modes, adaptive suspension, and rear-wheel steering enhance precision and agility across varied terrains.

Advanced Driver Assistance and Customisation

The New BMW M5 is equipped with the latest BMW Operating System 8.5, providing a digital cockpit powered by BMW Live Cockpit Professional and Augmented View. It features semi-automated driving systems, Parking Assistant Plus, and personalised drive setups via M1/M2 steering wheel buttons. Exterior colour options include Alpine White, Marina Bay Blue, and Fire Red, paired with an array of interior leather finishes for complete customisation.

BMW M3 Competition M xDrive: Precision with Practicality

The New BMW M3 Competition M xDrive strikes a balance between track-ready precision and everyday usability. Its refreshed exterior sports adaptive LED headlights, a new front design, and bold M styling cues. Under the bonnet lies a 530 hp M TwinPower Turbo straight-six engine, enabling 0 to 200 km/h in 11.8 seconds.

The cabin blends motorsport inspiration with luxury, featuring a curved display, M Carbon trim, and Harman Kardon audio. M Sport seats, a red Start/Stop button, and the M leather steering wheel with custom drive mode buttons reinforce its sporting nature. The car also integrates BMW’s full suite of intelligent safety and driving assistance features.

BMW M2: The Purest M Experience

Compact yet mighty, the New BMW M2 embodies the essence of BMW M performance. With updated styling, including adaptive LED headlights, black-finished tailpipes, and a carbon fibre roof, it maintains its iconic aggressive stance. Its 3.0L six-cylinder engine now produces 480 hp, paired with rear-wheel drive for a raw, engaging driving experience.

Inside, the New M2 offers M Vernasca leather, M Carbon trim, and a modernised digital interface. Customisable M drive modes, adaptive suspension, and drift-oriented features from M Drive Professional ensure that every drive is exhilarating.

The New M2 continues to be the most unfiltered performance car in BMW’s stable.

BMW M4 Competition Coupé M xDrive: Unmatched Dynamism

Making its first public appearance in Malaysia since its 2024 global debut, the New BMW M4 Competition Coupé M xDrive showcases the brand’s premium performance DNA. With 530 hp and a 0–100 km/h sprint in 3.5 seconds, this coupé delivers agility and grip through its M xDrive all-wheel drive and adaptive M suspension.

Its dynamic aesthetics include M forged wheels, a carbon fibre roof, and laser taillights. Inside, the luxury meets performance ethos is evident in its M-specific digital layout, refined materials, and comfort features. The vehicle offers a thrilling drive whether on city roads or the track.
