Hyundai Motor Malaysia has implemented a strategic price reduction of up to RM8,088 across the locally assembled (CKD) Tucson range, while officially discontinuing the entry-level 2.0-litre naturally aspirated variant to consolidate the C-segment SUV lineup around 1.6-litre turbocharged and hybrid powertrains.

- The baseline 2.0-litre naturally aspirated Style variant (previously priced at RM143,888) is officially discontinued, raising the starting threshold to RM159,800 while standardising higher baseline equipment.
- The restructured lineup now consists of three variants spanning RM159,800 to RM189,800, covering front-wheel drive turbo, all-wheel drive turbo, and hybrid configurations.
The pricing adjustment follows the transition of the fourth-generation (NX4) Tucson to local assembly at the Inokom manufacturing plant in Kulim, Kedah, which took effect in the second quarter of the year. By phasing out the atmospheric 2.0-litre Smartstream engine, the Tucson catalogue now solely features turbocharged internal combustion and electrified hybrid powertrains.

Under the revised structure, the 1.6T Prime serves as the new entry point at RM159,800, representing a RM5,088 price cut over its previous retail figure. The mid-spec 1.6T Prestige AWD receives a RM7,088 price cut to RM179,800, while the range-topping 1.6T Prestige Hybrid drops by RM8,088 to retail at RM189,800.
With the removal of the lower-tier Style specification, the standard equipment baseline across the entire range has been elevated. All variants now come factory-fitted with:
- Exterior Hardware: Full-LED headlamps with signature parametric hidden daytime running lights and 18-inch turbine-style alloy wheels.
- Cabin Comfort & Convenience: Genuine leather upholstery, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, a wireless smartphone charging pad, and a hands-free smart power tailgate.
- Infotainment & Connectivity: A 12.3-inch curved touchscreen display supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.
Mechanical options remain centered around two powertrain architectures. The 1.6T models are driven by a Smartstream 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 180 PS at 5,500 rpm and 265 Nm of torque from 1,500 to 4,500 rpm, paired with a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission (DCT). The Prime sends drive to the front wheels, while the Prestige AWD utilizes Hyundai’s HTRAC variable all-wheel-drive system with selectable terrain modes.
The flagship Prestige Hybrid couples a dedicated 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an electric drive motor to generate a combined system output of 235 PS and 367 Nm of torque, channeled to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.
Both Prestige variants retain the full Hyundai SmartSense active safety and driver assistance package, which includes Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Lane Following Assist (LFA), Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA), and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go functionality.
Jahabarnisa Haja Mohideen, Managing Director of Hyundai Motor Malaysia, stated that the revised pricing structure is intended to improve market accessibility for the brand’s mid-size SUV while delivering international quality and safety benchmarks, reflecting the company’s continuous commitment to customer value under local production operations.
