Sime Darby Auto ConneXion-Ford Surpasses 24,000 Next-Gen Ranger Deliveries, Expands Powertrain Lineup and Regional Support

KUALA LUMPUR, 26 August 2026 — Sime Darby Auto ConneXion-Ford (SDAC-Ford), the sole distributor of Ford vehicles in Malaysia, has announced that cumulative deliveries of the Next-Generation Ford Ranger have exceeded 24,000 units nationwide since its local launch in 2022. The milestone coincides with the introduction of new 2.0L and 3.0L V6 variants across the Ranger and Everest model lines, an expanded East Malaysian logistics network, and dedicated ownership programmes.

Model Lineup Expansion and Promotional Packages

Auto ConneXion-Ford broadened its local showroom offerings in July 2026 with new trim lines and powertrain configurations across the Ranger pick-up and Everest seven-seater SUV ranges.

Aftersales Network and Supply Chain Infrastructure

To support the growing active fleet of Next-Gen Rangers and Everests, SDAC-Ford has expanded its national parts and servicing logistics:

  • National Retail Footprint: A total of 33 authorized Ford dealership and service touchpoints operating across Malaysia.
  • New Parts Distribution Hub: Commissioned a dedicated regional parts warehouse in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (opened July 2026) to reduce component transit times and expedite routine maintenance and repair turnaround.
  • East Malaysia Coverage: 9 dedicated touchpoints across Sabah and Sarawak—consisting of seven full-fledged 3S dealerships and two specialized service-only centres, extending factory maintenance coverage to remote communities including Kapit and Mukah in Sarawak.

Owner Engagement and Experiential Programs

SDAC-Ford continues to roll out dedicated customer-retention initiatives under its “Live the Ranger Life” brand umbrella:

  • Ford Nation (Inaugural Event): Held at Heritage Valley, Kuala Lumpur, gathering owners and families for community activities, technical showcases, and entertainment.
  • Ford Ranger Getaways: A quarterly off-road driving programme established in 2022. The latest excursion featured a 20-vehicle convoy traveling from Seremban to a dedicated campsite at StarFresh Agro Park, Negeri Sembilan, where certified 4×4 instructors conducted hands-on terrain navigation, vehicle recovery simulations, and electronic driver-assist training (such as Trail Turn Assist and 4×4 Terrain Management Systems).

Executive Commentary

Noerel Ismail, Head of Marketing & Communications at Sime Darby Auto ConneXion, stated that surpassing 24,000 Next-Gen Rangers in Malaysia reflects sustained market demand across both commercial and lifestyle buyer segments. She noted that expanding parts logistics in East Malaysia and broadening variant choices—spanning entry-level work-ready platforms to 3.0L V6 powertrains—remains integral to supporting the evolving requirements of Malaysian truck owners.
