First Look: 2025 Toyota Corolla Cross GR Sport for Europe

Toyota has unveiled the 2025 facelift of the Corolla Cross for the European market, bringing updated styling, improved interior features, and an all-new GR Sport trim. These enhancements aim to keep the popular compact SUV competitive in an increasingly crowded segment.

Sleeker Exterior Design with Modern Lighting

The facelifted Corolla Cross receives a sharper look with redesigned headlamps and taillights. A new front light bar gives the car a more modern and cohesive appearance, echoing design cues from other recent Toyota models like the GR Yaris and Corolla. This freshened face helps align the Corolla Cross with Toyota’s latest global design language.

Enhanced Interior with Advanced Technology

Inside, the 2025 Corolla Cross features a more refined cabin. The center console has been enlarged and now integrates a new gear shifter. Wireless smartphone charging has also been added for greater convenience. The infotainment system gets a significant boost with a 10.5-inch central touchscreen, while a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster provides a more premium and connected user experience.

New GR Sport Variant for Europe

For the first time, European buyers will have access to the Corolla Cross GR Sport variant. This sporty version comes with a bolder front design, featuring a large octagonal lower grille and squared-off outer intakes. It sits 10 mm lower than the standard model and rides on distinctive 19-inch Y-spoke alloy wheels. A unique Storm Grey exterior color is exclusive to the GR Sport trim.

The GR Sport interior stands out with Brin Naub suede-effect upholstery, accented by red stitching and GR-embroidered headrests. Paddle shifters and a dedicated Sport Mode enhance driving engagement by improving throttle response and maintaining gear shifts for a sportier feel.

Hybrid Powertrains with All-Wheel Drive Option

Staying true to Toyota’s electrification strategy, the European Corolla Cross will be offered exclusively with hybrid powertrains. Buyers can choose between a 1.8-liter Hybrid 140, delivering 140 PS, and a more powerful 2.0-liter Hybrid 200, producing 197 PS. The latter is available with Toyota’s intelligent AWD-i system, which adds a 42 PS electric motor on the rear axle. Additionally, a new Snow Extra mode has been introduced to improve traction and stability in slippery conditions.

Availability

The 2025 Toyota Corolla Cross facelift is scheduled to arrive at European dealerships by mid-2025. Details about its availability in other markets have yet to be announced.
