HANGZHOU, 20 August 2026 — Geely Auto has announced that its new D-segment plug-in hybrid SUV, the Monjaro EM-i, will begin its global rollout in late August 2026, debuting first in Egypt before expanding to European and other international markets.
The Monjaro EM-i serves as the international export iteration of the Xingyue L Plus in China, transitioning from the previous model’s Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) to Geely’s newer Global Intelligent New Energy Architecture (GEA) Evo platform. In regional contexts such as Malaysia, the Monjaro/Xingyue L platform has frequently been cited as the candidate platform for a prospective Proton X80.

The Monjaro EM-i is the first Geely model developed for export to incorporate the brand’s electric all-wheel-drive system (e-AWD) alongside the EM-i Super Hybrid powertrain setup.

The model’s international launch aligns with Geely’s updated global trade and export projections:
- Launch Phasing: Regional debut in Egypt in late August 2026, followed by releases across Europe, the United Kingdom, the Middle East, and Latin America.
- Export Volume Growth: Geely exported 474,228 vehicles in the first half of 2026 (a 157.6% year-on-year increase), with July exports reaching a monthly record of 106,663 units.
- Annual Targets: The automaker has raised its full-year 2026 vehicle export target to 920,000 units, targeting a longer-term baseline of 1,000,000 overseas sales across key target regions.
