The all-new NA5 BMW iX3 has been officially launched in Indonesia, making its regional debut at the ongoing Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show. The German automaker’s first Neue Klasse model arrives ahead of its scheduled launch in Malaysia next week.

In Indonesia, the electric SUV is available exclusively in the 50 xDrive variant, carrying an off-the-road price tag of 2.269 billion rupiah, which translates to approximately RM512,000.

Powertrain and Performance

The iX3 50 xDrive boasts a powerful dual-motor, all-wheel-drive electric setup.

  • Outputs: The system delivers a combined 469 PS and 645 Nm of torque.
  • Acceleration: It sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds.
  • Top Speed: The vehicle reaches a top speed of 210 km/h.

Battery, Range, and Charging

At the heart of the electric powertrain is a nickel manganese cobalt battery with a usable energy capacity of 108.7 kWh. This substantial battery provides an impressive WLTP-rated range of up to 805 km.

Built on a new 800-volt electrical architecture, the iX3 supports ultra-fast charging:

  • DC Fast Charging: It can handle peak power of up to 400 kW, allowing the battery to charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 21 minutes.
  • AC Charging: The Indonesian-spec model features an upgraded onboard AC charger capable of 22 kW, up from the standard 11 kW.
  • Bidirectional Charging: The vehicle fully supports vehicle-to-load, vehicle-to-home, and vehicle-to-grid functionalities.

Equipment and Technology

The iX3 50 xDrive comes heavily equipped with premium features and advanced technology.

The exterior features adaptive LED headlamps with high beam assist, the signature Iconic Glow kidney grille, and a panoramic sunroof. It is outfitted with the M Sport package, which includes dark blue metallic brake calipers and 21-inch M light alloy star-spoke style 1050 M bicolour wheels.

Inside, the cabin is trimmed in Veganza leather upholstery and features ambient lighting, powered seats, a powered tailgate, and automatic air-conditioning.

For the driver, the technological highlight is the new BMW Panoramic iDrive system, featuring a pillar-to-pillar Panoramic Vision Display. This is paired with a 17.9-inch central touchscreen running Operating System X and a 3D head-up display. Standard tech amenities include Driving Assistant Plus, Parking Assistant Plus, BMW ConnectedDrive, a Harman Kardon sound system, and a wireless charging tray.
