Omoda 4 EV Makes ASEAN Debut in Indonesia: A 218 PS B-Segment SUV with 470 km WLTP Range

The highly anticipated Omoda 4 EV has officially made its ASEAN debut in Indonesia. Originally previewed at the Chery International User Summit in October and Auto China 2026, the all-electric B-segment SUV was unveiled during a premiere event at the Spike Airdrome in Jakarta. This launch marks the first time the fully electric variant of the Omoda 4 has been revealed to the public.

Bold, Edgy, and Aerodynamic

The Omoda 4 EV sits below the larger C5/E5 models, serving as the new entry point for the Omoda brand. The vehicle is designed to stand out, ditching the more traditional styling of its Chery Tiggo Cross and Jaecoo J5 siblings in favor of the brand’s sharp “Cyber Mecha” design language.

  • Exterior Styling: Aimed directly at a younger, more vibrant demographic, the Omoda 4 EV features an aggressive profile with precise geometric surfaces, sharp angles, and bold lines.
  • Aerodynamics: Despite its edgy looks, the design is highly functional, boasting an impressive aerodynamic drag coefficient of just 0.292 cd.
  • Dimensions: It measures 4,420 mm long, 1,870 mm wide, and 1,570 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. This footprint makes it slightly larger than the related Jaecoo J5 EV.
  • Wheels and Stance: The SUV provides a practical 190 mm of ground clearance and rides on 18-inch two-tone five-spoke alloy wheels, wrapped in 215/55 Giti Control P10 tires for the launch.

Tech-Forward Interior

Inside the cabin, the Omoda 4 EV is packed with features designed to appeal to its target audience. The tech-centric layout includes a large portrait-oriented central infotainment touchscreen paired with a slim full-color digital instrument cluster ahead of the driver.

  • Storage and Practicality: The cabin is exceptionally practical, offering 38 designated storage spaces and dual phone holders. With the rear seats folded, total cargo capacity expands to an impressive 1,126 liters.
  • Premium Amenities: Standard equipment includes a leather-wrapped four-way adjustable steering wheel, a 50-watt Qi wireless charger, a panoramic sunroof, and an eight-speaker O&J premium audio system.
  • Controls: The dashboard balances digitalization with functionality, featuring two rows of physical control switches on the center console.

Performance, Battery, and Range

Under the aggressive bodywork, the Omoda 4 EV is powered by a capable front-mounted electric motor.

  • Power Output: The single motor produces 218 PS (160 kW) and 275 Nm of torque, slightly more than the output found in the Jaecoo J5 EV.
  • Acceleration: This setup allows the B-segment SUV to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a brisk 7.1 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 170 km/h.
  • Battery and Range: Power is stored in a 65.05 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery sourced from CATL. It promises up to 553 km of range based on the older NEDC cycle, which translates to a highly respectable WLTP-estimated range of around 470 km.
  • Fast Charging: The electrical system supports DC fast charging up to 119 kW. At this maximum rate, the battery can charge from 20% to 80% in just 22 minutes.

While the Omoda 4 will be sold exclusively as a fully electric vehicle in Indonesia, the model is confirmed to be arriving in Malaysia soon, where it will be offered with multiple powertrain options, likely including turbo-petrol and hybrid variants.
