Smart #5 Brabus Edition Set for Malaysia Launch

Arrival in Malaysia
The Smart #5 Brabus edition, the most powerful model ever produced by the brand, is making its way to Malaysia soon. After its world premiere earlier this year, the high-performance electric SUV has already been previewed at the Malaysia Auto Show 2025, generating strong anticipation among local EV enthusiasts. Official launch is expected in the second half of 2025, aligning with its rollout in other right-hand-drive markets.

Performance and Power
The Smart #5 Brabus comes with remarkable performance credentials. It is powered by a dual-motor all-wheel drive system producing up to 475 kW, equivalent to 637 horsepower, allowing it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds with Launch Control engaged. The SUV is supported by a 100 kWh NMC battery operating on an advanced 800V architecture, delivering a WLTP-rated driving range of around 540 km. Charging is equally impressive, with 400 kW DC fast-charging capability that replenishes the battery from 10 to 80 percent in as little as 18 minutes.

Design and Exterior Styling
On the design front, the Brabus edition features an aggressive stance accentuated by 21-inch Monoblock Z wheels, red brake calipers, and a sporty front diffuser. The Brabus styling package ensures the SUV stands out with a bold and performance-focused character, distinguishing it from the standard Smart #5.

Interior and Comfort

Inside, the cabin emphasizes both sportiness and luxury, offering ventilated and heated microfiber seats, an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel with illuminated Brabus lettering, and heated rear seating. A panoramic halo roof, microfibre roof lining, and customizable 256-colour ambient lighting further enhance the premium atmosphere for both driver and passengers.

Technology and Infotainment

Technology plays a central role in the Smart #5 Brabus experience. The interior is equipped with dual 13-inch OLED screens, including one for the front passenger, while the highlight is the Sennheiser Signature Sound System. This 20-speaker audio setup, with a powerful 2,000-watt output and Dolby Atmos support, ensures an immersive experience for all occupants.

Pricing and Market Positioning in Malaysia
For Malaysia, the Smart #5 Brabus is expected to be positioned in the premium EV SUV segment. Although official pricing has not yet been confirmed, industry watchers suggest it could start from around RM200,000 based on the positioning of other Smart models. Its arrival represents a major step for the brand in strengthening its EV lineup in the region, combining performance, luxury, and cutting-edge technology in a package that rivals established premium electric SUVs.
