First Customer Bentley Batur Convertible Completed

Bentley’s exclusive Batur Convertible, crafted by its prestigious Mulliner division, has now officially seen its first customer example complete. The model, initially unveiled approximately a year and a half ago, has progressed beyond concept and is now rolling out of Bentley’s factory in Crewe, signalling another pinnacle of bespoke automotive luxury.

A Farewell to the W12 Engine

This remarkable open-top grand tourer embodies the final chapter for Bentley’s revered W12 engine. Under the hood roars a meticulously upgraded 6.0-liter, twin-turbocharged W12 that delivers an impressive 740 horsepower, the most potent iteration ever produced by the marque. This limited run marks a deliberate farewell to the W12, as Bentley transitions toward electrified powertrains in the years ahead.

Distinctive Exterior Styling

Drifting into view in a shimmering Opalite finish, the exterior of this one-off creation is complemented by a bold gloss-black racing stripe flanked by Mandarin orange pinstripes. These eye-catching accents continue onto the iconic matrix grille and bespoke five-spoke alloy wheels—demonstrating a seamless integration of form and performance.

“One Plus One” Interior Design

Inside, the most striking feature is the “One plus One” cabin configuration—a distinctive split-tone design that separates driver and passenger areas with contrasting yet cohesive styling. The driver’s cockpit is dressed in Beluga black hide and Alcantara, while the passenger side features Linen white upholstery, with Mandarin stitching and accents tying the two together. Even the embroidered luggage behind the seats, the matching key cases, and seat belts reflect this thoughtfully dual-toned scheme.

Attention to Detail

Bentley’s meticulous craftsmanship is evident in the smallest details. Satin-black engine-spun fascia and door waistrails complement gloss Beluga veneer on the center console. Titanium elements—ranging from paddle shifters and steering stalks to air-vent controls and dial bezels—imbue the cabin with high-end precision. Illuminated sill plates carry the Batur insignia and series number, showcasing its exclusivity.

From Goodwood to Monterey

Beyond its first customer example, the Batur Convertible development car known as “Car Zero” has already made its mark—taking to the hills of the Goodwood Festival of Speed and now heading Stateside for Monterey Car Week, where it is slated to impress attendees with its Vermilion Gloss finish.

Continuing the Mulliner Coachbuilt Tradition

This Batur Convertible continues Mulliner’s Coachbuilt tradition, following the Bacalar Barchetta and the Batur Coupe as exclusive, highly personalized collector cars. Each of the 16 units will be crafted in close collaboration with its owner, featuring bespoke design, tailored materials, and virtually unlimited customization—a true testament to Bentley’s devotion to luxury craftsmanship.
