Kuala Lumpur, 18 June 2025 – The Malaysian electric vehicle landscape enters a bold new chapter with the debut of the iCAUR 03, the nation’s first fully electric off-road capable SUV. Marking a significant milestone, Malaysia is also the first international market outside China to preview the iCAUR 03 following its global unveiling at the 2025 Shanghai International Auto Show.
Unveiled to great fanfare at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025, the iCAUR 03 is now ready to impress in action through the iEXPERIENCE Off-Road Test Drive at 1 Utama Shopping Centre. On a custom-built course designed to showcase the SUV’s capability, both the public and media are invited to test its mettle through a variety of extreme driving scenarios.
Vice President of iCAUR Malaysia, Emily Lek, expressed her excitement: “The wait is over. We’re thrilled to bring Malaysians our first model—the iCAUR 03. This marks the beginning of our journey to deliver cutting-edge electric off-road SUVs backed by an exclusive ownership experience. The ‘Born to Play’ slogan captures the intelligence, innovation, and interaction of the iCAUR brand—embodying the bonafide capability behind every model adorned with the illuminated ‘i’ logo. And today, we prove it.”
Lek further noted that the iCAUR 03 is a unique fusion of design, performance, and technology. “The iCAUR 03—Malaysia’s first full electric off-road SUV—combines head-turning design, electrifying performance, and seamless connectivity. It proves that adventure doesn’t stop where the road ends,” she added.
Design That Stands Out
The iCAUR 03 instantly captures attention with its bold i-BOX design language. Sharp angles, futuristic lighting, and a confident stance not only reflect the SUV’s rugged nature but also signal its high-tech credentials. This futuristic design is more than just eye-catching—it hints at the serious engineering capability within.
Ready for All Terrains
Underneath the striking design is a formidable off-road system. The iROAD system offers 12 selectable all-terrain drive modes, supported by an H-arm multilink rear suspension engineered for superior axle articulation and durability. A compact 6-in-1 electric drive module combines the Motor Control Unit, Onboard Charger, and Converter to deliver smooth and immediate torque across any surface, making it equally capable in urban settings and uncharted backroads.
Safety Without Compromise
Safety in the iCAUR 03 is elevated by the iCARE system, featuring Malaysia’s first all-aluminum monocoque chassis and body for an electric SUV. With a torsional rigidity of 31,812 Nm/deg—exceeding even some modern sports cars—the SUV offers superior crash resistance, lighter weight, and enduring structural strength. Adding to this is a robust four-layer IPX8-rated battery armour system. This includes a 10mm aluminum impact shield and a Mica ceramic thermal barrier that withstands temperatures over 1000°C, backed by two additional protective layers to ensure battery integrity under extreme conditions.
Technology That Immerses
Inside, the iCAUR 03 features the iBRAND cockpit equipped with a 15.6-inch central display, a 9.2-inch digital instrument panel, and the intuitive i-VA interface. The immersive experience is enhanced by a premium 12-speaker INFINITY audio system and a 540° Transparent Chassis camera offering full situational awareness. This integration of form and function puts both entertainment and safety within easy reach of the driver and passengers.
Performance Options for All Drivers
The iCAUR 03 will be offered in two powertrain options. The 2WD version comes with a 135kW (184PS) motor producing 220Nm of torque and a 65.7kWh LFP battery, giving it a range of 426km (NEDC). The Intelligent Wheel Drive (iWD) variant increases output to 205kW (279PS) and 385Nm, powered by a 69.8kWh battery with a 418km range (NEDC), offering better traction and performance for those seeking more adventure. Both variants also include Level 2.5 ADAS features such as Emergency Lane Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Traffic Jam Assist for added safety.
Off-Road Adventure at 1 Utama
The iCAUR iEXPERIENCE Off-Road Test Drive offers an extraordinary chance for the public to feel the SUV’s raw capabilities firsthand. The course includes four distinctive challenges: the iSee-Saw ramp tests frame rigidity, iSlide demonstrates the vehicle’s 55% hill-climbing ability, iSplash reveals its 400mm water-wading depth, and iBreaker showcases torque distribution through the intelligent iWD system.
Visitors are invited to take the wheel and immerse themselves in the bold electric adventure at the iCAUR Public Roadshow, which runs from 20 to 22 June 2025 at the Ground Floor Carpark (Old Wing), 1 Utama Shopping Centre. Event hours are from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily.
Launch, Pricing and Booking
