2025 Porsche 911 Carrera and Carrera 4 GTS Debut in Malaysia: Electrifying Performance Meets Timeless Legacy

Porsche Malaysia, managed by Sime Darby Auto Performance, has introduced the revamped 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera and Carrera 4 GTS, blending the model’s legendary design with groundbreaking hybrid technology. The Carrera starts at RM1.43 million, while the electrified Carrera 4 GTS begins at RM1.89 million, offering Malaysian enthusiasts a new era of performance and innovation.

Pricing and Availability

The base 911 Carrera is priced from RM1.43 million, available exclusively as a Coupé. The advanced Carrera 4 GTS, offered in both Coupé and Targa body styles, starts at RM1.89 million. Both variants are now open for orders nationwide, paired with Porsche’s 8-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission.

Engine and Performance

The 2025 Carrera retains its 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine, now upgraded to deliver 394 PS (+9 PS) and 450 Nm of torque. Enhanced with turbochargers from the previous GTS and an intercooler from the 911 Turbo, it accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 3.9 seconds (with Sport Chrono) and reaches a top speed of 294 km/h.

The star of the lineup, the Carrera 4 GTS, debuts Porsche’s revolutionary T-Hybrid system. Its 3.6-liter electrified flat-six combines a traditional engine with an electric turbocharger and a transmission-integrated electric motor, generating a combined 540 PS and 610 Nm of torque.

This setup propels the GTS from 0–100 km/h in a blistering 3.0 seconds, with a top speed of 312 km/h. The hybrid tech includes an F1-inspired electric turbocharger that eliminates lag and recovers energy, alongside a 400V battery powering a 54 PS motor for instant torque.

Design and Technology Upgrades

Externally, the 911’s iconic silhouette gains modern touches, including Matrix LED headlights with 32,000 programmable light points and a 600-meter beam range. The rear features a redesigned light strip, active cooling flaps, and adaptive aerodynamics for improved efficiency.

Inside, the cabin embraces Porsche’s latest tech with a 12.6-inch curved digital dashboard offering seven customizable layouts, including a nostalgic five-dial theme. A 10.9-inch touchscreen integrates Apple CarPlay and Spotify, while a push-button starter replaces the classic twist-key ignition, underscoring the model’s evolution.

Chassis and Handling

The Carrera 4 GTS boasts performance-focused chassis upgrades, including standard rear-axle steering, a 10 mm-lowered sports suspension, and adaptive PASM damping. Wider 21-inch rear wheels wrapped in 315/30ZR21 tires enhance grip, while active aerodynamics optimize airflow for stability at high speeds.

The Hybrid Debate

Porsche’s leap into hybridization raises questions about preserving the 911’s raw driving character. The Carrera 4 GTS’s T-Hybrid system adds 50 kg but significantly boosts power and reduces emissions. While purists may debate the shift, Porsche emphasizes that the updates retain the 911’s core DNA: razor-sharp handling, agility, and an adrenaline-fueled driving experience.

Conclusion
The 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera and Carrera 4 GTS redefine sports car excellence, balancing heritage with electrified innovation. The Carrera caters to traditionalists, while the GTS’s hybrid tech signals Porsche’s future direction. For Malaysian drivers, these models offer an unmatched fusion of timeless design, cutting-edge engineering, and thrilling performance.
