Temporary ECRL Bridge Collapses, Car Crushed in Selayang Incident

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 18, 2025 — A temporary bridge collapsed at the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) construction site in Kampung Sungai Pusu, Selayang, along the MRR2 today. A car became trapped under fallen metal beams.

The Bandar Baru Selayang Fire and Rescue Station sent a special operations team to the site at 1:47 PM. Before the team arrived, members of the public had already rescued the car’s driver.

Photos from the scene showed the Suzuki Swift pinned under the heavy beams. Authorities are investigating the cause of the collapse to prevent future accidents.
