Trapo Unveils What’s Next in Automotive Accessories

Trapo, Southeast Asia’s leading automotive accessories brand, has marked a new milestone with the launch of its next-generation innovations at the “Smart. Safe. Sustainable.” showcase in Terra, Petaling Jaya on August 5, 2025. This pivotal event introduced upgrades across Trapo’s ecosystem, ranging from enhanced car mats and dashcams to cutting-edge paint protection films. Alongside these innovations, Trapo also highlighted strategic partnerships that reflect its long-term vision for safer, cleaner, and more intelligent mobility solutions.

Shaping the Future of Driving through the Trapo Ecosystem

Trapo’s showcase was not just about unveiling new products—it was about strengthening its long-term commitment to drivers through the Trapo Ecosystem. This end-to-end framework spans from market research to product development, service delivery, and educational initiatives.

With this holistic approach, Trapo goes beyond offering automotive accessories—it delivers a complete experience based on transparency, knowledge, and trust. Each product is designed for local relevance, thoroughly tested, and supported by expert services. As Trapo grows, its mission remains focused on supporting every driver, both now and for decades to come.

Collaborative Growth through Strategic MOUs

A key highlight of the event was the announcement of five Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with industry partners aimed at enhancing sustainability, manufacturing capabilities, and driver education. These collaborations include advanced surface protection with Nick PPF, sustainable rubber innovation with MITA Rubber, scalable smart manufacturing with KYM Holding, educational efforts with Metro Driving Academy, and packaging solutions via Hasrat Meranti Sdn Bhd, a KYM Group subsidiary. These strategic alliances underscore Trapo’s collaborative spirit in building a smarter, safer, and more sustainable automotive ecosystem.

Leadership Vision and Brand Commitment

Trapo’s CEO, Tzong Lee, emphasized that “Smart. Safe. Sustainable.” is more than a slogan—it’s a commitment. He affirmed that the brand is not simply launching new products, but pioneering what comes next. This forward-thinking mindset aligns Trapo’s offerings with the latest consumer expectations around safety, sustainability, and innovation, all within a unified ecosystem.

Next-Gen Comfort with Redesigned Mats

Trapo has reintroduced its popular car mats—Trapo Classic and Trapo Eco—now engineered with enhanced materials and features. The Trapo Classic Mark V is upgraded with RealGrip 2.0 anti-slip technology and a new CloudFlex surface, providing better foot comfort and superior dirt trapping with double the durability of its predecessor.

Meanwhile, the Trapo Eco mat has been enhanced with reinforced layering and RealGrip technology, delivering a premium grip experience at an affordable price. Designed for budget-conscious drivers, it offers a perfect balance between cost, safety, and quality.

Greater Transparency and Protection with PRO+ Paint Protection Films

Trapo also unveiled updates to its PRO+ Paint Protection Film (PPF) series, now available in 8.5mil and 9.5mil variants for enhanced durability and long-term protection. These films address consumer concerns regarding inconsistent specifications and offer clear information on durability and pricing. The new finishes include Gloss Black for a sleek, reflective look and Matte Clear to retain a car’s original color with a modern matte finish.

All PPF variants are constructed using high-quality TPU from Germany, adhesives from the USA, and coating technology from Japan. Depending on thickness, they now offer warranty coverage of up to 10 years. Through rigorous testing, thoughtful material sourcing, and transparent specifications, Trapo ensures its protective solutions meet the needs of today’s and tomorrow’s drivers—committing to excellence for the next 10, 20, or even 30 years.
