TIGGO CROSS LAUNCHED, STARTED FROM RM88,800 IN MALAYSIA

KUALA LUMPUR, 9 July 2025 – Chery Malaysia has officially launched its latest offering in the compact SUV category: the TIGGO CROSS. Designed to embody bold style and intelligent versatility, this new vehicle is tailored for modern Malaysians who thrive on movement, expression, and a dynamic lifestyle.

According to Michael Chew, Vice President of Chery Malaysia, the TIGGO CROSS is aimed at those constantly on the move. Combining elegant yet practical design, a confident stance, and user-friendly technologies, the SUV is as comfortable navigating city streets as it is conquering weekend adventures. With the tagline “Cross Wonderful Life,” the TIGGO CROSS is a lifestyle-centric vehicle for everyone — from fitness enthusiasts and working professionals to style-conscious city dwellers.

Rapid Growth in Malaysia
Since entering the Malaysian market in July 2023, Chery has rapidly expanded its presence. From a small handful of showrooms, it now operates 58 outlets across the country, including Sabah and Sarawak. Chery has already introduced four models to the market and promises more to come in the second half of 2025.

Commitment to Local Sports
In support of Malaysia’s sporting community, Chery Malaysia donated RM50,000 to the National Sports Trust Fund (KWASN), presented to Minister of Youth and Sports, YB Hannah Yeoh. This partnership underscores Chery’s role in encouraging national athlete development and sporting excellence.

Global Legacy of the TIGGO Lineup
The TIGGO CROSS has made its mark globally, with over one million units exported as of March 2025. This milestone reinforces its importance as one of Chery’s flagship models and enhances the brand’s international reputation.

Engine Variants: Petrol and Hybrid
The Malaysian market receives two TIGGO CROSS variants — a petrol and a hybrid version.

The petrol variant features a 1.5L turbocharged engine paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission. It delivers 147 PS and 210 Nm of torque, with fuel consumption at just 6.3L per 100km.

The hybrid variant (CSH) combines a 96 PS petrol engine with an electric motor, resulting in 204 PS and 310 Nm of total system output. Fuel economy is rated at 5.4L per 100km, with a full driving range of up to 1,000km.

Cabin Comfort and Technology

Inside, the TIGGO CROSS is designed with user comfort in mind. It features Dual-Zone Climate Control with a touchscreen interface, allowing personalized temperature settings for both driver and front passenger. The infotainment system is led by a 20.5-inch touchscreen, complete with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Voice Assistant feature for hands-free control.

Built for Connectivity and Convenience

Additional tech features include wireless smartphone charging, multiple USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity, and steering wheel audio controls. Functional roof rails add to the SUV’s versatility, making it ready for road trips and outdoor adventures.

Advanced Safety with 16 ADAS Functions
Safety is prioritized with an extensive Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). This includes features like Front Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Prevention, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, and more — totaling 16 smart driving assist functions.

Innovative Hybrid Tech: Chery Super Hybrid (CSH)

The hybrid model benefits from Chery’s advanced Super Hybrid System, offering five driving modes: EV, Tandem, Parallel, Direct Engine, and Energy Recovery. These modes ensure maximum fuel efficiency, seamless transitions, and strong long-distance capability. The system also uses a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery for durability and fast charging.

Exterior Colours and Warranty

Customers can choose from a range of vibrant colours: Carbon Black, Phantom Grey, Khaki White, Blood Stone Red, and Moonlight Silver (for hybrid only). Both variants come with 7 years or 150,000km warranty, while the hybrid includes 8 years or 160,000km coverage for its electric components. Seven years of free towing service is also bundled for peace of mind.
