The battle for the top spot in Malaysia’s automotive market remains fierce, with the Perodua Bezza successfully reclaiming its crown as the country’s best-selling car just one month after losing it.
According to June 2026 registration data, the national compact sedan recorded 7,998 units registered over the month, showcasing its enduring popularity among local car buyers.
Perodua Drives Market Growth

Meanwhile, the Proton Saga—which briefly snatched the number one spot in May—slipped to second place. Proton’s entry-level sedan recorded 7,000 units in June, leaving a 998-unit gap between the two fierce national competitors. The third spot on the podium went to the Perodua Axia, which locked in a solid 5,970 units.
Overall, the Malaysian automotive market experienced a healthy mid-year surge. Total new vehicle registrations across all brands reached 72,943 units in June, a 10.4% increase from the 66,053 units recorded in May.
