OMODA | JAECOO Malaysia Celebrates 20,000th Vehicle Delivery Milestone

KUALA LUMPUR, 7 October 2025 — OMODA | JAECOO Malaysia has reached a major milestone with its 20,000th vehicle delivered. The achievement came just 14 months after the brand entered the Malaysian market in July 2024.

The milestone highlights the brand’s rapid growth and strong customer confidence. It also reflects Chery Group’s global export strategy, built around advanced vehicles and exceptional customer experiences.

Rapid Growth and Local Confidence

Acting Sales Director Clement Yeo described the achievement as a proud moment for the company.

“Reaching 20,000 vehicle registrations in just over a year proves Malaysian customers trust OMODA | JAECOO,” he said. “This milestone also contributes to Chery Group’s global success. The group has now exported more than five million vehicles, with over 600,000 from OMODA and JAECOO.”

Yeo added that the brand remains committed to offering high-quality vehicles. “We want to delight customers with advanced technology like our Super Hybrid System, premium comfort, safety, and modern design,” he said.

20,000 and Beyond: A Celebration of Trust

The company marked the achievement with a private event called “20,000 and Beyond: A Celebration of Trust.” It took place at Blossom Glass Mansion in Kuala Lumpur, attended by more than 100 guests.

During the event, Khirdzir Ali received his new JAECOO J7 PHEV as the 20,000th customer. He expressed excitement about joining the OMODA | JAECOO community.

“The J7 PHEV offers great value compared to other SUVs in its segment,” Khirdzir said. “It’s an honour to be part of this milestone and to see the brand’s fast growth in Malaysia.”

He added that he looks forward to driving his new car with his family. “Its fuel efficiency helps lower my daily running costs,” he said.

Strengthening the Brand in Malaysia

OMODA | JAECOO has quickly become a rising premium SUV challenger in Malaysia. The brand’s success comes from four main models — JAECOO J7, JAECOO J7 PHEV, OMODA C9, and JAECOO J8.

It now operates almost 50 dealerships nationwide, supported by a parts warehouse and a local assembly plant in Shah Alam. Thanks to these efforts, OMODA | JAECOO ranked among Malaysia’s top five automotive brands in the first half of 2025.

Chery Group’s Global Momentum

Globally, Chery Group continues to grow strongly. Earlier this year, it became the first Chinese carmaker to export more than five million vehicles. The company has led passenger car exports for 22 consecutive years.

In July 2025, Chery reached another milestone by ranking 233rd in the Fortune Global 500 and 59th in the Fortune China 500. It achieved one of the fastest climbs in the industry.

Focus on New Energy and Technology

A key factor in Chery’s growth is its focus on New Energy Vehicles (NEV), which made up 40% of its exports in the first half of 2025.

At the core of this innovation is OMODA | JAECOO’s Super Hybrid System (SHS), used in the JAECOO J7 PHEV. The system combines a 1.5L turbocharged engine (141 hp/215 Nm) with an electric motor (204 PS/310 Nm) and an 18.3 kWh LFP battery.

The J7 PHEV can travel up to 100 km in electric mode and achieve a combined range of over 1,300 km (NEDC). It consumes only 4.77L/100 km, making it efficient for both urban and long-distance driving.

Exclusive Offers for Malaysian Buyers

To celebrate the milestone, OMODA | JAECOO Malaysia is extending exclusive ownership packages. Every purchase of a JAECOO J7 PHEV includes seven years of free servicing or a RM5,000 rebate, valid until 31 December 2025.

Attractive financing and servicing deals are also available for the J7 2WD, J7 AWD, C9 2WD, and C9 AWD. Customers can contact their nearest authorised dealer for details.

Building a Strong Owner Community

The event also showcased the upcoming JAECOO J5 and featured family-friendly activities such as fan painting, caricature sessions, and lucky draws.

Among the attendees was Irene Tee, owner of a JAECOO J7 AWD that has covered 70,000 km in less than a year — more than triple the national annual average. Her story highlights the durability and reliability of OMODA | JAECOO vehicles.

The company also launched a social media contest, inviting owners to share their experiences with the brand. The initiative aims to strengthen the growing OMODA | JAECOO community and build closer connections among owners nationwide.
