Proton X50 2025 Launched in Malaysia from RM89,800

Official Launch and Pricing
Proton has officially introduced the facelifted Proton X50 in Malaysia on July 24, 2025. The updated model is available in three variants: Executive at RM89,800, Premium at RM101,800, and Flagship at RM113,300. These prices are on-the-road without insurance.

Early-Bird Rebate Offer

To mark the launch, Proton is offering a special rebate of RM4,000 for the first 10,000 buyers. With this incentive, the effective prices become RM85,800 for the Executive, RM97,800 for the Premium, and RM109,300 for the Flagship variant. This promotional offer enhances the SUV’s value in its segment.

Powertrain and Performance

All variants of the facelifted X50 continue to feature the same 1.5-litre turbocharged direct-injection engine producing 181 PS, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Proton has opted not to introduce a lower-output base engine, ensuring all variants deliver full performance.

Exterior and Interior Enhancements
The refreshed X50 gets a sharper front and rear design, giving it a more modern and assertive appearance. Inside, the cabin has been updated with new trim and improved tech, including a digital instrument cluster and upgraded infotainment system, contributing to a more premium experience.

Market Response and Bookings

Even before the price was officially announced, Proton revealed that the facelifted X50 had secured over 5,000 bookings within just 10 days. This overwhelming early demand reflects the continued popularity of the model among Malaysian buyers.

Position in the Compact SUV Segment
With its updated design, enhanced features, and limited-time rebate pricing, the 2025 Proton X50 aims to remain a strong contender in Malaysia’s compact SUV market. It continues to target young urban buyers seeking style, performance, and technology at an accessible price.
