A Fresh Racing Chassis from Sant’Agata
Lamborghini has taken the wraps off the Temerario GT3, the race-ready version of its upcoming supercar, crafted specifically for GT3 racing. Unlike the hybrid production version, the GT3 model is built around a newly developed aluminum space-frame chassis. This architecture, developed in-house at Sant’Agata Bolognese, emphasizes rigidity and lightweight construction for racing performance.
Twin-Turbo V8 Tuned for Competition
The Temerario GT3 ditches hybrid assistance in favor of a detuned version of Lamborghini’s twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8. Output is restricted to around 550 horsepower to comply with GT3 class rules. Despite the power cut, performance is enhanced through optimized air intake, titanium connecting rods, and a recalibrated engine map that broadens usable power across the rev range.
Race-Optimized Gearbox and Drivetrain
Power is delivered through a purpose-built six-speed transverse racing gearbox. Lamborghini’s racing division fine-tuned the gearbox and drivetrain for endurance reliability and competitive response, creating a unit capable of thriving in the world’s toughest GT3 circuits.
Designed for Quick Repairs and Pit Efficiency
Ease of repair and serviceability is a standout feature. The front and rear body sections are one-piece carbon composites, while the underbody uses four modular carbon panels. Suspension, radiators, and cooling components are all arranged for swift replacement—crucial during long endurance races where time in the pits can decide victory.
Advanced Suspension and Aerodynamics
The suspension system features six-way adjustable KW dampers and a hydraulic steering rack for pinpoint handling. Aerodynamics and airflow are refined to ensure efficient cooling for the engine, brakes, and turbos—key to maintaining performance over long race durations.
Targeting Global GT3 Series Debut in 2026
Developed in collaboration with Podium Advanced Technologies, the Temerario GT3 is built from scratch to conquer global racing. It is scheduled to make its competitive debut at the 12 Hours of Sebring in March 2026. Lamborghini also plans to meet GT3 homologation requirements by building at least ten production-based Temerario units by year-end.
Future Super Trofeo Variant Incoming
While the Temerario GT3 will take over from the Huracán GT3 in GT World Challenge, DTM, and IMSA series, Lamborghini is also preparing a one-make Super Trofeo version of the Temerario, expected to arrive in 2027.
