Hyundai Motor Malaysia has officially launched the all-new Hyundai Stargazer, introducing the B-segment multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) as a completely built-up (CBU) import across three distinct variants—Style, Prime, and X—with retail prices starting from RM99,800.
- The Hyundai Stargazer officially arrives in Malaysia in three CBU variants: Style (RM99,800), Prime (RM109,800), and the crossover-inspired X (RM121,800).
- Powered across the range by a 1.5-litre Smartstream naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine paired with an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT), producing 115 PS and 144 Nm of torque.
- Features seven-seater packaging on Style and Prime trims and a dedicated six-seater layout with second-row captain chairs on the X variant, backed by an 8-year or 160,000 km warranty.
The launch marks Hyundai’s entry into Malaysia’s high-volume compact family carrier segment. Offered in both traditional seven-seater configurations and a six-seater captain-chair layout on the range-topping X trim, the Stargazer pairs futuristic exterior styling with high equipment levels and a factory warranty package.

The Stargazer is built on a 2,780 mm wheelbase across all trims. The standard Style and Prime measure 4,575 mm in length, 1,780 mm in width, and stand at 1,695 mm (Style) and 1,710 mm (Prime) in height. The crossover-styled Stargazer X gains larger physical proportions, measuring 4,610 mm long (+35 mm), 1,820 mm wide (+40 mm), and 1,740 mm tall (+30 mm to +45 mm) due to elevated ground clearance and chassis cladding.
Standard lighting hardware across all grades includes full-LED projection headlamps with automatic on/off functionality and slim, full-width LED horizontal daytime running lights spanning the front nose. The Stargazer X distinguishes itself with rugged crossover elements, including dedicated front and rear sporty bumpers, integrated bridge-type roof rails, gloss-black 17-inch alloy wheels, and blacked-out Hyundai badging.
Cabin Ergonomics, Seating Layouts, and Practicality
The cabin offers distinct seating arrangements and trim grades tailored to passenger capacity:
- Style Variant: Features seven-passenger seating upholstered in hard-wearing fabric. The second-row bench incorporates a 60:40 split-folding mechanism with slide and recline adjustments. Media is handled by an 8.0-inch central touchscreen paired with a four-speaker sound system.
- Prime Variant: Retains the seven-seater configuration while upgrading to mixed fabric and leatherette upholstery. It introduces a larger 10.25-inch high-definition central touchscreen, a six-speaker sound system, full automatic climate control, an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) with Auto Hold, Smart Cruise Control, and foldable seat-back tray tables for second-row passengers.
- Stargazer X: Configured as a six-seater layout featuring individual second-row captain chairs with 50:50 split folding, dedicated armrests, and walk-through central aisle access to the third row. The cabin is trimmed in full leatherette upholstery and retains the full suite of Prime convenience amenities, including second-row seat-back tables.
Every variant incorporates functional interior storage solutions, including a floating center console design with a detachable storage tray and an underfloor cargo box with an integrated lid in the rear luggage area. Remote engine start via the Smart Key is standard equipment across the range.
Hyundai SmartSense Active Safety Package
Passive safety equipment provides two airbags on the entry-level Style variant, while Prime and X variants receive six airbags (front, front side, and full-length curtain).
Prime and X variants are equipped with the full Hyundai SmartSense active driver assistance suite:
- Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA): Scans for preceding vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists, executing automated emergency braking if collision risks are detected, including oncoming traffic detection during intersection turns.
- Lane Keep Assist (LKA) & Lane Following Assist (LFA): Uses the front camera to detect road boundaries, applying corrective steering intervention to prevent lane departure and actively centring the vehicle within marked travel lanes.
- High Beam Assist (HBA): Automatically toggles between high and low headlamp beams based on oncoming or preceding traffic illumination.
- Driver Attention Warning (DAW) with Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA): Monitors driver fatigue patterns and provides audible and visual prompts when the vehicle ahead pulls away from a stationary stop.
- Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA): Scans for cross-traffic approaching from the left or right when reversing out of parking spaces, issuing warnings and applying automated braking intervention if required.
- Safe Exit Assist (SEA): Uses radar detection to identify approaching bicycles or vehicles from behind, issuing warnings and locking doors to prevent hazardous door-opening accidents.
Colour Options and Factory Warranty Coverage
The Hyundai Stargazer is offered in three primary exterior paint finishes: Titan Gray Metallic, Creamy White Pearl, and Midnight Black Pearl. The Stargazer X exclusively gains an optional Gravity Gold Matte exterior finish.
