Mechanically, the EX30 Cross Country adopts a twin-motor, all-wheel-drive powertrain delivering a combined system output of 428 hp and 543 Nm of torque. The drivetrain accelerates the compact SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. Electric energy is stored in a 69 kWh Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) battery pack, delivering up to 437 km of WLTP-rated driving range. High-voltage DC charging at speeds up to 175 kW replenishes the battery from 10% to 80% state-of-charge in 27 minutes.

To support light off-tarmac driving, the Cross Country incorporates dedicated chassis adjustments:
- Raised Ride Height: Ride clearance is increased by 19 mm compared to the baseline EX30, enhancing obstacle clearance across unpaved surfaces.
- Chassis & Suspension Tuning: Bespoke spring and damper calibration paired with specialized 19-inch five-spoke alloy wheels designed to absorb terrain vibrations.
- Recalibrated Steering Dynamics: Fine-tuned software mapping providing progressive steering torque build-up, active return assistance, and enhanced low-speed damping.
Visually, the Cross Country is differentiated by rugged exterior trim elements. The front and rear feature low-gloss Vapour Grey skid plates integrated into matte black lower bumper mouldings, complemented by matching matte black wheel arch extensions. Signature details include a dedicated Cross Country designation on the C-pillar, an embossed “CC” insignia on the lower tailgate, and a bespoke low-gloss rear shield panel.
The cabin features Scandinavian minimalist styling built with sustainable and circular materials:
- Interior Appointments: Charcoal woven textile paired with bio-attributed Nordico upholstery, accented by upcycled denim dash decor panels and subtle blue air vent bezels.
- Cabin Layout & Practicality: Door-mounted audio speakers are eliminated in favor of a dashboard-integrated Harman Kardon soundbar, maximizing door card storage capacity. The front console incorporates a sliding modular storage bin capable of carrying small bags, while a removable rear storage unit under the central armrest doubles as an enclosed waste receptacle.
- Luggage Volume: The rear cargo hold provides 318 litres of storage volume with all seats in place, expanding to 718 litres when the 60:40-split rear seats are folded. The interior tailgate panel features a molded “Will it Fit” visual sizing guide.
- Digital Interface: A 12.3-inch portrait central display houses Google built-in connectivity (Google Maps, Google Assistant, Google Play) supported by Volvo Connect Plus, alongside wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Active safety equipment is governed by Volvo’s Safe Space Technology suite, featuring corner-mounted radars and multi-angle cameras to provide 360-degree environmental monitoring. The system incorporates collision avoidance with autonomous steering and braking intervention, the Driver Understanding interior monitoring system, Pilot Assist, and Park Pilot Assist.

For the first 100 customers placing a booking, Volvo Car Malaysia is providing an introductory launch bundle:
- A direct cash rebate of RM12,000.
- A complimentary home Volvo Wallbox valued at RM3,990.
- Factory roof load carriers valued at RM2,098.

Alongside the vehicle debut, the company announced the launch of its Digital Service Booking (DSB) system via the Volvo Cars App and official portal, allowing vehicle owners to schedule maintenance appointments digitally. DSB is currently operational across authorized retailers within the Klang Valley, with nationwide network implementation scheduled over the coming months.
