Toyota Marks Merdeka with Growth and Legacy

UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) has announced strong sales performance for August 2025, with a total of 9,083 units sold. This brings the company’s year-to-date sales to 62,246 units, a clear sign of sustained demand for Toyota vehicles across Malaysia. The achievement underscores Toyota’s Multipathway approach, which balances electrification solutions with trusted models that continue to meet everyday mobility needs.

Toyota has long been recognized for its ability to serve Malaysians from all walks of life. From dependable daily drivers to hybrid models that make electrification practical and accessible, UMWT remains committed to delivering vehicles that provide quality, value, and long-term peace of mind. Guided by the global Mobility for All philosophy, the brand continues to ensure that customers receive the right technology at the right time.

UMWT President Datuk Ravindran K. emphasized that Toyota’s relationship with Malaysians goes beyond cars. “Our focus is not only on delivering vehicles of quality, but on ensuring mobility remains meaningful and accessible for all, across every stage of life. This lasting bond reflects our commitment to Mobility for All and is how we continue to Move Your World. It is this same spirit of unity and progress that we proudly celebrate together with the nation this Merdeka,” he said.

Honouring a Malaysian Legacy

Toyota’s journey in Malaysia spans more than six decades, beginning with the first locally assembled Corolla in 1968. Iconic models such as the Hilux, Vios, and Camry have since become household names, cementing Toyota’s place in the lives of generations of Malaysians. Beyond being cars on the road, Toyota vehicles have been balik kampung companions during festive seasons, reliable workhorses for businesses and farmers, and family vehicles that have carried countless memories.

As of August 2025, Toyota stands as the number one non-national automotive brand in Malaysia, with 859,865 vehicles sold since 2015. This achievement reflects multi-generational loyalty and the brand’s ability to adapt alongside the nation. As Malaysia celebrates Merdeka, Toyota’s story is deeply interwoven with the nation’s progress, symbolizing trust, resilience, and shared growth.

Going the Extra Mile for Every Owner

UMWT continues to enhance ownership experiences through its Toyota Extra Mile programme. With a strong nationwide service network, digital convenience via the Toyota MY App, and hybrid servicing support, Toyota owners benefit from reliable after-sales care. Long-term warranty programmes, hybrid maintenance, and easy access to service centres ensure that peace of mind extends well beyond the showroom.

Exclusive Merdeka Offers

To mark the Merdeka celebrations, UMWT has introduced special promotions across popular Toyota models, with savings of up to RM5,000 available throughout September. Customers can also enjoy further benefits through Toyota Service Savers, a prepaid maintenance programme starting from as low as RM31 per month. This plan offers up to 10 percent savings on parts and labour, protection from future price increases, and hassle-free servicing at authorized centres nationwide.

UMWT encourages customers to take advantage of these limited-time promotions by visiting Toyota showrooms, calling the hotline, or exploring offers at www.toyota.com.my. With these initiatives, Toyota continues to strengthen its role in shaping Malaysia’s mobility landscape while celebrating its enduring bond with the nation.
