The Ferrari Amalfi: Beauty, Brains, and Brutal Speed

Ferrari has unveiled the all-new Amalfi, a front-mid-engine V8 2+ coupé that replaces the Roma in its current line-up. Named after the iconic Italian coast, the Amalfi marks a transformative step in Ferrari’s vision for Grand Touring. It blends thrilling performance, refined comfort, and unmistakable design language—offering a car that is as suitable for dynamic cornering as it is for elegant coastal drives.

Design Meets Performance

From a design standpoint, the Amalfi adopts a clean, minimalist style with sculpted volumes and aerodynamic lines. The long bonnet houses a 640 cv twin-turbo V8 engine, while the aggressive front intake and integrated rear spoiler define its sporty silhouette. A distinctive launch colour, Verde Costiera, captures the sea’s shimmering hues and highlights the car’s flowing surfaces. The absence of a traditional grille and the sculpted diffuser at the rear bring a bold, modern aesthetic to the coupé.

Interior Elegance and Technological Focus

The cabin features a dual-cockpit layout, enveloping both driver and passenger in a shared, high-tech environment. A new steering wheel with physical buttons and a restored iconic start button add a tactile feel to driving. Premium materials, contrasting stitching, and an anodized aluminium central tunnel contribute to an upscale feel. Technological enhancements include a three-display HMI setup: a 15.6” instrument cluster, 10.25” touchscreen, and 8.8” passenger display, ensuring both engagement and ease of use.

Engine and Transmission Evolution

At the heart of the Amalfi lies an evolved version of Ferrari’s 3855 cc twin-turbo V8 from the award-winning F154 family. Producing 640 cv at 7,500 rpm, it delivers outstanding performance figures: 0–100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 320 km/h. The eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, first seen in the SF90 Stradale, has been optimized for smoother, quicker shifts and better integration with the engine’s software.

Aerodynamics Engineered for Balance

Aerodynamic development involved CFD simulations and wind tunnel testing. Key innovations include front vortex generators, bypass ducts above the headlights, and an advanced underbody airflow system. A mobile rear wing shifts between Low Drag, Medium Downforce, and High Downforce modes depending on the driving scenario, offering both speed and stability. The system adds up to 110 kg of downforce at 250 km/h with minimal drag increase.

Driving Dynamics and Control Systems

The Amalfi introduces brake-by-wire technology for sharper and more consistent braking. It incorporates the latest ABS Evo system, 6D sensor feedback, and Side Slip Control 6.1 to fine-tune grip, stability, and steering response. An adaptive active spoiler at the rear activates during dynamic maneuvers, improving traction and balance. Electric Power Steering now offers 10% faster and more accurate grip estimation.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The Ferrari Amalfi is equipped with a fully connected infotainment system, supporting Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto®, and MyFerrari Connect. Wireless charging is integrated into the central tunnel, and the optional Burmester® audio system with 14 speakers and 1,200 watts transforms the cabin into an acoustic haven.

Safety and ADAS Suite

The car includes a full suite of ADAS features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, and driver attention monitoring. Optional systems include Surround View and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, enhancing both safety and daily usability.

Tyres and Suspension

The Amalfi rides on 20” wheels with Bridgestone Potenza Sport or Pirelli P ZERO tyres. The dimensions—245/35 R20 at the front and 285/35 R20 at the rear—strike a balance between ride comfort and agile handling. The retained sidewall ratio ensures progressive response and effective road isolation.

Seven-Year Genuine Maintenance Programme

Ferrari’s commitment to ownership experience continues with its 7-Year Genuine Maintenance Programme, covering scheduled servicing with no mileage limits. Conducted by factory-trained technicians using original parts, this service ensures peak performance and reliability for years to come.

Technical Specifications

The Amalfi’s technical highlights include a 640 cv twin-turbo V8, 8-speed F1 dual-clutch transmission, top speed of 320 km/h, dry weight of 1,470 kg (optional lightweight content), and a power-to-weight ratio of 2.29 kg/cv. The 0–200 km/h sprint is completed in just 9.0 seconds.
