Kuala Lumpur, April 15, 2025 — BMW Group Malaysia has kicked off a grand celebration to honor 50 years of the legendary BMW 3 Series — a model that has come to define not just the German marque’s identity but also Malaysia’s premium automotive landscape since the 1970s.
Marking the occasion, BMW Group Malaysia has unveiled the New BMW M340i xDrive Edition 50 Jahre, a limited edition of just 50 units, available exclusively online. This special model commemorates half a century of a vehicle that has evolved into a symbol of performance, innovation, and design excellence.
A Global Performance Milestone
BMW’s global momentum remains strong. In the first quarter of 2025, the Group delivered over 586,000 vehicles, including 109,516 fully electric models — a 32.4% increase from the previous year. The BMW brand itself contributed 520,142 units, with fully electric models accounting for 86,449 deliveries.
With its sights set on delivering three million electrified vehicles since the launch of the BMW i3 and i8 — and 1.5 million fully electric models by the end of 2025 — BMW continues its charge toward sustainable mobility.

Evolution Through the Generations
From the original E21 in 1975 to the cutting-edge G20 of today, the BMW 3 Series has consistently raised the bar:
The E30 introduced the world to the now-legendary BMW M3 and Touring variants.
The E36 and E46 generations expanded the body style lineup, with the latter becoming BMW’s all-time bestseller.
The E90 brought bold design innovations under the “Flame Surfacing” aesthetic.
The F30 modernized the range with turbocharged and hybrid options.
The current G20 delivers advanced tech, electrified drivetrains, and intelligent driver assistance.
The New BMW M340i xDrive Edition 50 Jahre
This limited-run variant comes equipped with exclusive M Performance parts, Alcantara-wrapped M Performance armrest, carbon fiber gearshift paddles, and a commemorative “50 Jahre Edition” badge. Buyers can reserve their vehicle online with a RM3,400 booking fee and complete the purchase at a preferred dealership.
